My Nephew likes his Marine uniform but his friends don't want him to wear it. Why?

There is a time and a place to wear each of the different types of uniforms. Wearing a uniform at any other time is not appropriate.

Because they're a bunch of gutless chickens and would never ever consider giving several years of their lives to their country in the interests of bettering themselves and protecting others at the same time. Not that you'd know anything about that either, of course. People always show the most resentment to those they're most jealous of.

Perhaps your nephew should be the one posting things on Yahoo Answers instead of you... perhaps then the rest of us would get to hear from someone with all of his priorities in the right place.

I do not know but my son loves it when i wear mine! He grab the ribbons on my chest and says "Medals" and tries to eat them(He is 2). No matter how many loosers thereare that do not apreiate us military folk there will always be guys like me that will gladly serve so if I was your nephew I'd tell them to scram, there will be a bunch of marines he can party with, if he can't find any have him give me a call, I'll ask my wife if it is ok for me to go out and party a bit.

They are embarrassed because they know that they could never measure-up to him. They know that he stands ready to defend his country even in the constant midst of detractors and nay-sayers.
They know that being a Marine means sacrifice, grit and uncompromising standards - something they have no concept of. He has made a commitment to himself and to his country - again another category where his nephews fail to measure-up. So, who has the courage!

I hope you have the opportunity to travel through Dallas, St. Louis and other heartland cities. When the airline attendants announce that we have servicemen aboard - the applause breaks out!

Maybe it is a reminder of what is going on in the world today and the fear that it could be them.. I think the Marine Corp uniform is one of the most beautiful uniforms I have ever seen and it represents some of the bravest men and women to ever serve...I am SO proud of him and I am not even related to him by birth by certainly by country. God Bless him.

Maybe his "friends" don't feel like they measure up. Maybe your nephew should be embarrassed by his friends.

Here we go again with the fake Marine nephew....why do you ask these questions here instead of asking these people?

Maybe his friends couldn't cut it in the military and they are jealous? Maybe because alot of women love guys in uniform so it decreases their chances.....I could go on and on

You're not proud of your service but you're proud of your nephew? And you belong to an anti-war protest group? Go ask some questions in the knitting section sweetheart!
