There's a book by Joseph Campbell called "Hero with a Thousand Faces" about variations on the same myth in many different cultures. It was partly the inspiration for Star Wars.

hindu evolve to buddha
jew + jesus + bit of buddhism = christian
christian + arab culture = islam
the 'believe' at starwars is universal believe..
whatever your religion it doesnt contradict this..
