Would like something not too loud but festive -- something along the lines of a lodge theme would be great.

Love the Briarwood Inn in Golden, but it's too expensive for my departmental party.

Jose Oshea's just south of 6th ave on Union Blvd. It has great mexican food, but the atmosphere is more like something from Switzerland or Germany. I think they have private rooms you can reserve, too. Priced along the lines of Chili's, etc.

How about El Rancho, also in Golden. I'll bet that's cheaper. Or how about that mansion at the top of the Lookout Mountain Nature Center, that would be nice too.

El Rancho is a good suggestion - see website:

I would also suggest The Fort - in Morrison, although it is pretty expensive, also.
