I would imagine it is because the league of nations still had a romantic idea of war with both sides following the rules. Food is a basic human need and soldiers are human. Hospitals are a basic need as well, not just for soldiers, but civilians as well. The League of Nations would assume that both sides would follow the rules and only declare war under its rules for doing so and that the war would be limited to prevent another WWI again. Expecailly with the horrid conditions both civilains and soldiers faced in that war. The league of nations would also serve as a referee of the war as well.

Its much the same idea today as Doctors Without Borders and many other IGO/NGOs.

I admit this is a guess though, but after reading a lot of the UN charter, it seems plausable.

The information contained in your original question is flawed!

" . . . so why back in wold war one should legue of nations supply hospitals and supply troops with food on both sides . . . "

The League Of Nations was formed after WW! ended.

It was was an international organization founded as a result of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919–1920. The League's goals included disarmament, preventing war through collective security, settling disputes between countries through negotiation, diplomacy and improving global welfare. The diplomatic philosophy behind the League represented a fundamental shift in thought from the preceding hundred years.

The League lacked an armed force of its own and so depended on the Great Powers to enforce its resolutions, keep to economic sanctions which the League ordered, or provide an army, when needed, for the League to use.

However, they were often very reluctant to do so. Benito Mussolini stated that "The League is very well when sparrows shout, but no good at all when eagles fall out."

After a number of notable successes and some early failures in the 1920s, the League ultimately proved incapable of preventing aggression by the Axis Powers in the 1930s.

The onset of the Second World War suggested that the League had failed in its primary purpose — to avoid any future world war.

The United Nations replaced it after the end of the war and inherited a number of agencies and organizations founded by the League.

The most prominent Neutral & International Organization that helped out in WW2 was the RED CROSS based in Switzerland.

The League of Nations wasn't created until after World War One. It was a covenant contained within the Treaty of Versailles which ended that war. I think you are referencing the International Committee of the Red Cross which is headquartered in Switzerland. They provided medical support to both sides in conflicts and also provided some support services to those who were taken captive in war. They still do that and even have an office at Camp Delta at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. A link to their web site is in the source box below.
