I have never done volunteer work. I would love to work with animals or underpriviledged people but I work two jobs, what's an easy way to help out without spending too much of my time?

A great organization is The Pencil Project. You can collect pencil donations from people in your spare time (no time limit) and you will be making a HUGE difference.

Keep your money in your pocket and demand that the laws get enforced. Our taxes are the biggest ENFORCED CHARITY in the world and the people who receive the funds are not the most deserving and are often the ones who lie cheat and steal and come to the country illegally in the first place. If you really want to be charitable, I would suggest you go to an orphanage and volunteer your time there or in a hospital. Even the churches are abusing the contributions by ignoring the laws and by protecting lawbreakers. Know who you are contributing to. I would suggest you contact the VFW and the American Legion and the NAVY Relief to get information on how to help the families of our veterans who have lost their lives or their limbs or who have lost tremendous amounts of income because their loved ones are fighting for the country. Contact the Veterans Affairs Administration. Also, you can collect newspapers for Animal Welfare Shelters and you could collect cans (like tin cans that canned vegetables come in and aluminum cans and pie pans and other aluminum pans) and take them to a recycling center, get the money and then donate bags of dog food, cat food, bedding, etc. Always get a receipt and keep track of your mileage when you deliver the goods because you can take tax deducations when you itemize.

An easy way, is to set up a box at each job and ask your coworkers to donate non-perishable food, and then you can take it to the local food bank. Maximum impact but a small time requirement since you already have time restraints.
