Either way he'd be a major disappointment, huh?

I'm not Christian, but if God exists in the way Christians believe God exists, I would say God is an overachiever; at least as far as the universe is concerned. Why would God make all the other galaxies, strange worlds, all the complex laws of physics, all the complex organic interactions in the animal kingdom, and have humans existing for only a tiny part of the history of the universe. I'd say God went way overboard in creating the universe around us. God could have made everything much simpler.

I'm Agnostic, so I don't know if God really exists.

Oh yes. Biologically and psychologically.

Biologically: There are hundreds of examples of "evolution" gone wrong (I put the evolution in quotes because we are talking about God) The best example is the male urethra that passes through the prostate gland. Just bad 'design' at its best! Not to mention the back problems we suffer as a result of our bipedalism.

Psychologically: If the Christian god is that of the bible and the Old testament, then human beings (even Christians!) have outgrown god and his childish, selfish and down right nasty "morals". When was the last time you heard an intellectually superior human display the kind of 'worship me or die' attitude that god and his followers adopt?

Maybe the old codger was having an off day. Wednesdays will usually do that.

He DOES exist. He is not an underachiever. Some of the people in His world are evil.

Ah, but here's the key to Christianity's success: all rewards, all promises, all things miraculous, the righting of all wrongs, are relegated to either the end of time, or after one's death. It's a way of promising much without ever having to deliver the goods, so to speak.

Considering the creation of such species as malaria plasmodia and African Guinea worms, perhaps he just has a sardonic sense of humor not understood by humans.

Not so. It just happened that much that has to be achieved has been entrusted to the hands of an evolving corporate Mankind.

The God of Abraham and Mohammad and Jesus certainly loves a good war. And His worshipers have never disappointed Him. Christians are His only chosen people. Jews are His only chosen people. Muslims are His only chosen people. And I will kill anyone who says different! Teehee.

If its goal was to be loving and humane yes, if its goal was to be cruel and tyrannical I'd say it's right on target.
