I am waiting to hear from the Air Force on if they are going to accept me as of yet. I do have my GED but have very high scores on my ASVAB overall as well as in each catagory. I have already taken my physical as well as passed the DLAB and the EDPT. Does anyone know how long it takes to find out?

Please no comments on how hard it is to get into the airforce with a GED I am well aware and did intense research before speaking with my recruiter but I cannot really get a straight answer on how long it will take to find out.

Thanks!

From what i've seen, it can take anywhere from a few days to a month or more. It depends on all the information they have to consider with enlisting you. It also depends on your chosen MOS (if you've chosen one already) and the availability of it. There are a million and one things that can either speed up or slow down the process. You might call your recruiter and see if there is any additional information you can supply him to help the process go alittle faster

It appears you have already "joined". If you went to get your physical, that would mean that you went to the recruiter, they sent you up to the MEPS Station nearest you and you spent the day getting a physical, talking to a career counselor, maybe taking the ASVAB or other tests on site. Now you are just waiting for a job.

Did you select a career at the MEPS? Did you at least choose a category? (admin, mechanical, electrical, etc...) or just waiting on General?

Your best bet is go talk to the recruiter!! they can see what is open RIGHT NOW and may be able to et you in right away. That is the best way to get in quickly, but be ready to take what they have to give!

Good luck to you and you made a great choice to join. Serving is rewarding for you and really does make a difference.

good for you for joining, my husband did the same thing, he got his GED and made a very high score on the ASVAB and has been in for over 4 years now and loves it, and now he has his associates that the AF paid for! Good Luck!!

if you are looking to be a linguist your chances are slightly better than if you wanted to be something that the AF is overmanned in.

Your recruiter has no control whatsoever as to the timeline hwoever. It will take as long as it takes.
