Sounds induce vibrations in substances that can harm or heal. The faster a substance vibrates, the more likely a substance is to be damaged or destroyed by shearing forces(i.e.-glass breaking when high C note is hit) and or heat generated(i.e.-microwaving process). Every physical object in the universe has what is known as a resonating frequency. When this frequency is hit, the object will be damaged or destroyed. In humans, different frequencies cause different symptoms-headaches, temperature changes, brain wave changes characterized by behaior chages(yes, as in even religious songs or other music), and so on, even death. If a noise is loud enough(90 decibels or higher and /or long enough, hearing can be destroyed because the hair cells(akin to blades of grass or hair on your head) on the cochlea(organ of hearing) were damaged. If you friend doesn't mind losing his hearing, tell him to try standing as close as safely possible to a jet taking off and ask him if the noise doesn't hurt , that is, if he can still hear you. Just because we can not hear it does mean we can not be hurt by it.In the 1960's, at the height of the COLD WAR with the Soviets, they bombarded our ambassy there with low frequency(below human detection) , noise that corresponded exactly with increased health problems. Incidentally, the Soviets also provide the Ambassy a hollowed out emblem that when hit with the right frequency, acted as a wireless transmitter for conversations in the Ambassy rooms. They also did this with the Ambassy glass windows. NO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WERE NEEDED AND WERE UNDETECTABLE UNTIL INFORMANTS PASSED THE INFORMATION TO THE U.S.Indeed, slower vibrations are more solid(actual physical objects) and faster vibrations are less solid objects(ghosts/spirits, etheral space).Visit naturescorner.com, my website.

Peace be upon you brother, Well, recitation of the Quran has rhythm, music is not haram but depends on what kind of music?
Does it affect your mental and emotional behaviour? Like is it suicidal or erotic, which will cause you to sin or tendency to commit suicide ectra. But if it is a good music that makes you closer to God, the creator, makes you a better person or makes you look up to the good characteristics of the prophet, why not? God always wants the best for us, not to do sins. If it dont subject you to committing sins but increase your rewards to paradise why not.

If music is haram, then I know a heckuva lotta Muslims that ain't NEVER gonna see paradise. I own an extensive collection of Beduoin, Egyptian and Arabic music, both vocal and instrumental. Much of it predates Mohammed (I LOVE ancient music), but there's plenty of modern selections in that collection.
And just who do you suppose invented belly-dancing music? Wasn't the Jews or the Christians, I can tell you!
