It is because both Christians,Muslims, Hindus and all other religions are supported by people are convinced absolutely that they are 100% right even though they have no real proof and the atheists are equally sure they are right even though they do not have 100% proof of the lack of existence of God.
I am an agnostic and totally open minded but I have to say that the Christians really get up my nose with their preaching and patronising comments.

You sound like a good soul! However, argument, discussion whatever you like to call it is a very important part of society as a whole and can have positive results. I agree that gratuitous insults on this site are unecessary (see Viva, new member), however on the whole I am finding it a real pleasure reading the questions.

Yes I know'' I should turn the other cheek, and act like a Christian, but my dear, I am not perfect'
in fact I'm not a very good christian, and I have faults

That can be largely contributed to the fact the predominant religion in the anglophonic west is monotheistic by demand. It doesn't technically allow tolerance of other beliefs and likewise is inherently difficult to tolerate for those who do not follow it.
(The fact that there's other religions that are monotheistic by demand certainly helps to shorten fuses, while I'm afraid people like me tend to ignite them by way of pointing out they're all following the same Abrahamic god.)

There is much evil out there! Sadly and realistically, many brave men and women have to fight this evil on a daily basis, in order for others to dream of an 'idealistic state of peace amongst nations!'

V good question, it has been my experience on this site that unless you believe in JC as your lord and Savior here you get bounced and abused. In normal world most folks will live and let live, this doesn't seem to be the philosophy for the fundamentalists.

I am enclined to agree with you. This forum does atract dogmatic people who have no intention to look at the evidencial proof, let alone the views of others. They come here, in the main, to see who is disagreeing with them, so that they can have a go at them.!!!
