I left the church for many reasons:
preaching of being saved by works not grace

Elen White and her books, if you really research her you will learn so much about her..none of which jives with what the church tells you, etc.
There are many reasons and none of which was becasue od my former home church, and I don not regeret it

The straw was sermons on "stewardship" [aka giving money to the church] two Saturdays in a row.

But it had been building seriously over a 2 year period or so.

I have not regretted for a minute leaving the SDA church. I have been able to keep a cordial relationship with my parents. I cannot say that there has been much meaningful continuing contact with old SDA friends, but that may have been as much my doing as theirs.

I am a current Adventist, and I am quite happy where I am. Why did you leave? I would assume that it might be because you may have been swayed by false doctrine, or else you weren't happy with your particular local church due to infighting or lack of evangelism in the community - that is, doing the Lord's work. I can't imagine that anyone who is in a church that is actually out in the community doing the Lord's work could be unhappy enough to leave. That kind of work gives you a sense of peace and accomplishment, and makes you know that your church is really doing some good.

Well, I was a kid when my parents left the Adventist church. I'm not sure that makes me a former Adventist, as I was never baptized or added to the registry.

Looking back at it as an adult, I'm glad they left when they did. Otherwise I would have had to have leave as a teenager or adult, and that would have been more stressful, especially if I had friends in the church.
