I moved from Texas to Washington earlier this year, since I moved, my mother received in the mail, a letter from the TX DOT stating that I would not be allowed to renew my drivers license, a mixture of tickets and an accident, or maybe a ticket I have not taken care of? I'm not sure exactly what. Either way, I need to get a DL in Washington for obvious reasons, but I am curious if my denial in Texas will affect my ability to get a DL in WA. Thanks in advance.

Is there any one that is familiar with the Washington DMV that could comment on this? I appreciate the answers I've received, but they're conflicting. Would the DMV in WA really check with the DMV in TX? Getting a DL is usually done immediately, you're not submitting a form and waiting to be approved, so I think I'd be okay, but I would like some form of confirmation.

no Washington will check with Texas and you won't be allowed one until you take care of what is preventing you from getting a license in Texas.

The computer age has pretty much closed all the loopholes for information. Even if Washington issues you a license now, the info may catch up later. Since you will be asked when applying, if you have a license from another State and if it is revoked, you will be committing perjury if you don't tell the truth. That could seal your fate for getting a license later, even after you clear up the problems in Texas.

Every state checks a national database. It only takes a few seconds. Plus, I believe the application form ask specifically if your driving privlege has been denied, suspended or revoked in any other state. If you lie on the form, you're committing a felony.

Of course. The DMV is just trying to get you for no reason. You sound like a decent driver to me. The thing to do is, email the DMV in Washington, and lie lie lie lie lie.
