Exodus 34:17 - Do not make cast idols.
Leviticus 19:4 - Do not turn to idols or make gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.
1 Samuel 12:21 - Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.
Ezekiel 20:18 - I said to their children in the desert, "Do not follow the statutes of your fathers or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols."
Habakkuh 2:18 - "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
Galatians 5:19-21 - The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
These are just a few of MANY. Hope this helps.

Did I pray to my bed when I kneeled before it at bedtime to offer my prayers when I was a Protestant?
Does a Protestant pastor who kneels before his Bible pray to a book?
God's commandment prohibits the worship of idols, not the making of art or the use of art as an aid to worship. Statues are holy reminders of the person represented, like a photograph of a favorite friend. God himself commanded images of various types to be made for religious purposes: Exodus 25:18, 37:7-9, 26:31; Numbers 21:8; 2 Chronicles 3:10-13, 4:4; 1 Kings 6:23, 7:29; Ezekiel 41:17-18; Isaiah 45:20; Hebrews 9-5; John 3:45-15.
The Bible instructs us to use images. Just looking at the image of a snake on a pole as commanded by God saved the Israelites.
The Bible must be read holistically. Everything it says about a given subject must be considered. Prooftexting, which is the basis of this question, results in false interpretation.

(2) “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” This command is against making a idol, a visible representation of God. There is no image we can create that can accurately portray God. To make an idol represent God is to worship a false god.

The following scripture is clear as to what God thinks of idol worship...
Isaiah 44
9 All who make idols are nothing,
and the things they treasure are worthless.
Those who would speak up for them are blind;
they are ignorant, to their own shame.
10 Who shapes a god and casts an idol,
which can profit him nothing?
11 He and his kind will be put to shame;
craftsmen are nothing but men.
Let them all come together and take their stand;
they will be brought down to terror and infamy.

Psalm 115 v 4 - 8 is my favourite scripture about idols. As it says in verse 8 "Those mkaing them will become just like them".

According to the bible, it is called worshipping false idols.
According to me, it's all good. If there is a God/Gods they would be pleased that we are doing our best to be good people and live by the standards we believe,

Who cares.
Each person is entitled to worship in the way he/she wishes. It's nobody else's business. That right is guaranteed by our Constitution.
