There isn't a will. It is the king of fighters.

It is not overpriced. Having the best military in the world is essential to the existence of the United States and the freedom of dozens of other nations.

The F15D/E Strike Eagle has seen its day as the American Air Superiority Fighter Aircraft and the F22A Raptor is the next generation ready to serve in its intended mission. The X40 program is still under development and as such is pretty much 'pie in the sky'.

Since the remaining fleet of F15D/E have been grounded this week, the F22A is the only show in town to fulfill that role!

Don't know, dude. The king of fighters thing is a bit redundant- i mean, it's not likely it's going to get into a dogfight with a eurofighter, and aerial battles are more than a one on one.

What matters is if it does it's job. Some would say it's overengineered and expensive, but all that money feeds back into the economy, gives smart people jobs that might otherwise go elsewhere, and keeps the country at the forefront of technical innovation. Just look at what damage shortsighted budget cutting did in the UK - Blue Streak, TSR-2 etc.

F-22 is an Air Superiority Fighter which incorporates cutting edge systems and can penetrate highly defended air spaces.

It can rule the air .. really its worth the money

and ppl who think F-35 is better ... think again

its cheaper coz all its systems were built earlier .no research involved .. they were built for the F-22

Both. If a war comes then it will rule the skies. If the fact that we have this aircraft prevents a war - then it has also done its job.

There is a saying called the 'Dunnigan Rule:'
"Buying weapons that frighten a potential aggressor is cheaper than fighting a war."

Lockheed Martin is working on an X40... no pilot... run from the ground or a ship that puts the F22 in the "toy box"

I think it's an over priced scare tactic.

The real weapons of today are smart missles.
