Why do paramedics in Los Angeles County not carry activated charcoal?

I'm a medic who is transfering to LA. Every other system I have ever worked carried AC. Why does LACo not?

I'm not sure, but my medical director change the protocol last year so we don't carry it anymore either in some Virginia agencies. Sounds like a lot of places are phasing it out.

Its probably been classified by the State of California to cause cancer, like everything else.
