IMO you'll be happier if you save your money and buy a true macro lens. Look for the older manual focus Pentax 100mm macro lens. Pentax also offered a 50mm macro lens. (I like the 100mm focal length because it gives a better working distance from bees and butterflies.)

Another good route to extreme close-ups is with extension tubes. They mount between the lens and camera body and give good results. Ones offered by Pentax should be meter-compatible.

You could also buy a reversing ring which screws into the filter threads on your lens and then into your camera's lens mount. Metering is a little more involved but you can get really close.

Depends upon your lens diameter and how good a quality you want. For example a 58mm diameter lens with the Canon close-up filter (it'll fit any lens, including Pentax) in model 250D is about $139.

What I would do:
1) determine your lens filter size.
2) go to bhphotovideo.com or pricegrabber.com and do a search. The best close-up filters are the Canon 500D, but the less expensive (but still good) ones are the Canon 250D. They are available in different filter diameter sizes.

Or you could get a diopter set as p-ace suggests.
