it may depend,there are cases where people have bad eyesight though neither its parents or relatives were near or farsighted,
most possible cause near work
ive also known people that had good vision although mum/dad
or both ought to wear glasses

unfortunatley if your parents wear glasses chances are very slim that your not gonna need glasses or contacts

I think it is. My older daughter is nearsighted, just like I am. Her prescription is also almost as strong as mine, too.
