I try not to believe in God.
I try to follow Him, which is quite another thing.
People talk about God like He is their idea. And everyone has a different idea of God, all equally valid, all equally erroneous, all equally pointless.
But God has His own ideas. Every now and then He gets a hold of someone and reveals Himself to them. He blows their minds. The people He does that to are called Prophets. What they wrote about the experience is called the Bible.
Man makes the inequity, not God.
Instead of believing in God and arguing His Greatness, try getting to know Him. He's there if you look for Him. If this seems difficult, ask Him how to do it, how to make it easier. And read what the people He got a hold of said about Him, especially those that knew Jesus.
A long time ago I thought the Bible was something I would never understand, and there was no point in even trying. I prayed and asked God to make it real for me.
He did!

Well, first you have to answer the question of which god it is that you should believe in. Compared to all of the others, what proof is there that this particular god is any better or more real than the others. If you can prove that any god actually exists with proof that points to that particular god exclusively that is more valid than the proofs of the other gods (i.e. you need more than an old lengthy novel) then you'll have all the proof you need.
So far, gods are only great on paper.

Yes, I believe in a Divine energy that many would call God, except God is consider male gender and I don’t think God is any gender. God can come to Earth as a male/Jesus or female/Diana, etc… I don’t believe the bible is the word of God. Maybe your friends do have a faith, it’s just not yours.
Believing in God makes me feel better and want to be a better person. You can see it in the way I carry myself that I believe in something good. If you act like a good Christian and your friends want to know what makes you act that way, then you can tell them about your faith. If they don’t ask then you should not bother them. Trust that God loves them anyhow and what happens to their soul is none of your business. Leave it to God.

I do.Because if he's not real where'd everything, including us, come from? Also, I see God's hand in everything I see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. People shouldn't see him as a huge ruler. But as a guiding spirit. We all have our own free will. God let's us choose all things. Simply put- God is so great because w/o him we would be nothing.

I believe due to first hand experiences that no science can explain. And this happened to a 30 yr atheist, so no "faith" here, it was all "fact".
Easy way to explain G_D. Use science. We see light, right? We know light is a wave, right? We know that we only see 10% of the light spectrum, we call it visible light. So if we can't see 90% of what is out there, how can we say nothing is there? Thats not logical, thats ignorance.
Take your car and tape up 90% of the windows, now go attempt to drive. Can you? No. Do you see what is around you? No. Do you see what you are passing? No. So how can you tell me all that was on your journey if you never saw it?

If you want to tell some one how great God is, you have to get to know him ,and you do this by reading his word and praying. Build a relationship with him and then when some one invites you to discuss God the word will flow.

Yes, because I'm born again and have experienced His grace and peace. Try these two verses to find out more: Ephesians 2:8 and 2 Corinthians 5:17.

When you say God I will refer to the God of the Bible the God of Creation the God of Heaven and Earth. The God of the Bible says we shall have no other God but Him. His name in scripture is Yahweh. He is not Allah or the God of any other "religion". The Godhead is made up of three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This is all supported in the Bible which is His inerrent word. The bible was penned by men chosen of God. God spoke to these godly men as what to writem the Holy Spirit oversaw all what they wrote to ensure it was as told by God. TheBible is truth and can be trusted. I give you 2 points which authenticates the scriptures to be of God and not just man, 1,Prophecy.....throughout the old testament are hundreds of prophecies written of future events. Many of these have already since been fulfilled. When Christ came He alone fulfilled over 100 of these prophecies. There are many more of future events that are being fulfilled even today. This could not be by chance, these prophecies are not like tlhose made by people today or in past times( Jean Dixon, Nastradomas and others) they have only a partial success rate. Only the Creator could have known all which will unfold in time. 2nd point...Christ fullfilled many prophecies, He was born in a city prophecied over 600 years prior, He died on a cross as prophecied 600 years prior. He walked the earth for 33 years was crucified in our place, He was buried and 3 days later rose from the dead. He walked the earth for another 40 days and was witnessed by over 500, He then ascended into heaven. Christ was recorded in many of the historians writings of the time so it is not just a biblical account. What He did no one else has ever done, this tells me He was who He said He was and I can accept that as truth. He claimed not only to be the Son of God He claimed to be God in the flesh. He died for our sins, He asks that you have the faith to believe in HIm as your savior and He will send His Holy Spirit to come and dwell in you. Because you accept Him (God's gift) your spirit will go to heaven when you die. Not because of you doing good things but because of your faith in CHrist and having been cleansed of your sins by His shed blood. There is no other way to heaven. If there was then Christ would not have had to go to Calvary and die on a cross. Hope the helps you, it is rather short but it is the answer to how we can have eternal life and not go to hell for our sins. Shalom.

i do believe in god as he has been their for me even when i didn't aks him to be and provided for me in my time of need by sending me and my daughter food when i didn't have any money for food through 2 seperate churches who had no way of knowing my situation. He also blessed me with a beautiful daughter when everyone was trying to prepare me for not having children as i had been trying to conceive for several years. He is there all the time i can't physically feel him or see him but when i am down or sick i can emotionally feel his arms going around me and taking care of me. at the moment i am unwell with a really bad cold/flu and my daughter has croop and i have been able to find the strength to look after her although i feel drained and i believe that it is god that is giving me that strength

I believe in God because I have seen the other options and He is the only one that makes sense. Look at the world around you...could it have can about by chance? Also, because I love Him and even though i don't know all the answers to all the hard questions I have faith in Him. Good luck with your class mates! :]
