St. Francis, that's exactly what I'm saying. Your bible contradicts itself.

Good for you, yogini! Paul bastardized the teachings of Jesus and turned it into something it wasn't.

I don't trust anything about Paul. I suppose if you've seen me post about Paul then you already know this. He made a mockery of Jesus. I'll hang with Jesus and keep Paul out of my spiritual life. It works better that way. Gnosticism is a good thing!

If Jesus truly commanded his followers to pray in private, then you should believe him. Paul and others that came after Jesus were inspired men that wrote and embellished facts and fiction together in order to further explain morals and the church's mission. I was born Christian but I chose to question everything. If you blindly believe everything that is said and written, you will never know the real truth. Keep an open mind and you will see the true light eventually.

Prayer is suposed to be private. If you make a show of it, it's losing all it's sense. You don't pray so that people will see you, right? You don't pray to impress others. Or well, maybe some people do, it's their business, but I don't think it's correct. Pride is not a virtue

Trust me you're never going to get anywhere by using the bible to confront the religious. I have even been told by many concerning the original texts that "those old documents don't mean anything now".
A religion is not in a book it's in how the people in it choose to practice it.

You are not to make a big show of it just for the "show's" sake, however, that doesn't mean that you aren't supposed to get together with other believers in fellowship and pray.

Scriptures for Paul making a show? You are not supposed to make a display of prayer..this usually done to draw attention to how "great you are" and not how great "God is"

Are you trying to say that the NT epistles are not the Word of God? If you reject the writings of Paul, then you reject the Bible. If you reject the Bible, then where are you getting your information? You need to quit reading trashy liberal books that try to rewrite Christianity, and read the Bible through the eyes of faith a little more.

You are taking it out of context.... How you pray depends on what it is.. not who you listen too..
