Your list is good but i want you to go to the library and get a cd of Bernard Allison. If you like the above list you will also like BA.

But out of the list Stevie Ray Vaughn ourshines all of them. His guitar technique has no peer.

There are some on the list i would remove like elton john bruce springsteen janis joplin because blues is not their main thing and replace them with albert collins, jack mcduff, maybe miles davis.

i look at bb king more as a singer/personality rather than a musician.

good luck

I'd say Jimi and Eric (Duane coming a distant third)

Janis, Slash and Tony Iomi have a few good bluesy songs

Albert King, SRV and B. B. are blues players not rockers

Angus is a different animal altogether. I don't know where I'd put him, but definitely not blues

The Boss is not blues

Elton John? Are you f**king kidding me?

I guess none of these rookies have ever heard Albert King or even heard of him...sad . He is the master of all. SVR and Clapton got their $#I# from Albert...and would smoke anyone on that list in his prime(and every other person mentioned in the answers). Check out the links.

PS Where's Jeff Beck? He should be in the top five.

Kind of a stretch on a few of these dudes...and I'm very sad that you didn't include Freddie King!

My top three (tie):
B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton.

Duane Allman is a very close contender...his slide is unsurpassed.

I am going with "chilling . . ." right now on the Taj Majal!

My choice out of your list is the one and only Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I'm going to have to add a little Jethro Tull
