I married into an Irish Catholic family. I thought the southern branch (those that moved to the south about 40 years ago) were big drinkers...that is until I went up north to Buffalo for a family reunion...oh my. I wouldn't classify them as drunks, but the term social drinkers certainly applies. It's a helluva lot a fun, though, I certainly recommend Irish Catholic boys for dating and marriage!!

Well my family is irish and we are always toasting for something or another. Alot in quantity it depends on the person, a lot in the respect of celebrations. Heck yeah!

This may be hard to believe but there are more t.t. in Ireland than drinkers. I think it has to do with the last generation being drinkers. Since Ireland became one of the richest countries in the world people would rather spend money on things that last, and not on booze.

Less per capita than they drink in Uganda, Luxembourg or the Czech republic, still number 4 in the world ain't bad.
