The KJV is the most accurate version. We have the Book of Mormon because God gave it to us. We did not add anything to the Bible, or take anything out of it. We expounded upon it and provided another testament of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the KJV there are some really bad translations but very few. I have ran into them like for example the idea that the servant would touch the thigh of Jacob was a bad translation it probably was the hand like the shaking of the hand. It would go with the culture of that time. Some other translations are sometimes used. I think they are great tools to go to the greek and the other translations to get a good idea of how it works. But mainly we use KJV coupled with the JST ( I barely use some of the Joseph Smith Translations if I do not understand a verse I will look at that see if I can make sense of the two). The book of mormon is to be coupled with the bible. It is not to be held any higher than the bible. We believe they are both at the same standard but the book of mormon does not really have any mistakes nor does it have any problems with being miss understood as much. It is an awesome book and so is the bible.

Which translation of the Bible is correct according to the mormon church? DEPENDS ON THE LANGUAGE.

Why is there a book of mormon when the Bible says do not add or take away from the Bible? BECAUSE THE BIBLE DOESN'T SAY THAT. I GUESS YOU JUST MADE UP YOUR OWN BIBLE VERSE. GET YOUR HATE STRAIGHT!

We did not add or take away from the Bible -- it is intact. We use the KJV but there is a Joseph Smith Translation that we footnote into our copies of the KJV Bible.

The Book of Mormon is a separate book that confirms the truthfulness of the Bible and clarifies some doctrines that other religions argue over.

Here we go again. We use the King James version of the Bible because it has the most correct translation. Of course everybody is bringing up the "add to or take away" references. These refer the book of Revelation itself, not the whole Bible. Remember that the Bible is a collection of books. The Bible as we know it did not exist when John wrote Revelation. He most likely meant "don't change what I have written, or you will be cursed." Then there are the "another gospel" quoters. This is another old and tired reference as well. We preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the same that the apostles of old preached, not any other gospel. It didn't come from an angel. It came from God the Father and Jesus Christ to Joseph Smith. There were angels, but they came later. As always, people assume they know what we believe and take Bible passages out of context to back up their already faulty arguments.

KJV. And if that were true in that context then Deuteronomy would be the last book in the bible. Since it is there as well. You do know Revelations was not the last book written? That only pertains to the book of Revelations. The bible was compiled by a bunch of dudes who thought they had the right to add and take away from it. And the book of Mormon is here to confirm that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints uses the King James Version of the Bible. The Book of Mormon is not an addition or reduction of the Bible it is a second witness and testimony of Jesus Christ. Also, the Bible as we have it today did not exist when the scriptures you quote were written. Have you ever considered that it those verses were directed at the scribes who wrote copies of scrolls? a challenge to be diligent and careful in their duty? John the Revelator had nothing to do with the epistles of Paul. Nor did he write the gospel of Luke... You have your interpretation of the scripture - but that is not my understanding of the same scripture. Ultimately, the question is whether the Mormon church teaches truth or not. If it does, than it's doctrines and teachings are of vital importance in the lives of all mankind. If not, than it is nothing more than words on paper.
As for me, I seek truth - and embrace it where ever I find it. I found it within the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I embrace it through the doctrines, teachings and ordinances of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ stands at the head of our Church and through him I will attain salvation and hopefully, exaltation.
Best wishes

At the same time you might ask why the King James Bible took away several books that remain in the Catholic Bible. Or why the Bible was been changed so many times down through the ages by groups of men that deemed it proper to put in and take out only the parts they thought we should know.

The LDS use KJV of the Holy Bible in addition to their myriad of Holy books. You are right. The Bible says not to add to or take away from the Bible. They believe(they told me, no gossip here) the BOM is more correct than the Bible. Therefore, if the Bible doesn't jive with their doctrine the BOM is right the Bible is wrong. There are a few sketchy verses verses in the Bibles they say prophecy that the BOM will come to us(world). They can explain, it has a while. Anyway, that should answer your questions thoroughly.

I just want to say this, That the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. If God says that now I do not know everything, that I just see in part, then instead if judging others for the part they see that is different, maybe they have a part that would help me and maybe if I wasn't being Judged by them, they also could gain understanding by sharing our part together. My Friend in Utah describes Jesus the same way I describe Jesus. I don't know everything that LDS teaches,, but I love this man of God and know that he hears from God as he prays to our Father. Jesus prayed that we would all be one, and love is the key that will make that happen. Love you all.
