What I would do is when you go into work tomorrow have a doctors note and give it to the manager. He probably will not fire you but if you really want this job watch out for your time out of work. He will probably give you a warning, either in writing or verbably. Good Luck.

He might fire you, and might have said "don't sweat it" since you're just part time and can probably find another equivalent job. Employers need employees they can depend on to come to work. Lots of people go to work when they "aren't 100% yet".
If it was just this time, probably wouldn't be a problem - you don't say what "missed several times before" means, but doesn't sound like you've been real reliable.

If you really are sick I doubt they will fire you over it (I'm not sure they can). Take a doctor's note with you when you return to work. If you're calling in sick too much it may be that they have noticed a pattern, they can fire you then for sure. Are you giving yourself long weekends? If there is an employee handbook I would look at it and see what their policy is on being sick.

I don't get why you basically gave him permission to fire you if you missed any more days. What is that?
Secondly, if he needed you or someone in your position that badly, he would have answered your question outright. He was probably trying to handle it as tactfully as possible, considering you put him on the spot.
None of us can tell you what he is going to do. Personally, I would fire you. Your job doesn't seem to mean that much to you. Sorry, you asked. Good luck.

If it is at all possible to get a doctor's note I would do that. If you show up for the meeting with the note he will likely just give you a warning. I doubt he would fire you without at least warning you first.

You shouldn't have asked. You're just feeding ideas into his head.
But, now that the cat's out of the bag... he'll probably have a serious talk with you about how you feel about your job.
"You can fire me if you want to" translates as, "I hate this job, so I dont really care".
Think about whether this job really is important to you.

he will probably fire you if you keep telling him you dont care if he fires you or not.
if you want your job and have any interest in convincing boss that you are wothy of keeping your job you ought bring a note from doctor stating that you have been too ill to work

No. He is going to try to figure out whether he can can on you in the future. Go in to the meeting with an open mind and be positive.
