Yes, there are real home typing jobs but not many, the few companies I know of are not hiring and other companies want more than 60wpm. As for any company charging a fee, STAY away from them because they are scams-you should not pay a fee to work from home!
If transcription sounds like maybe something you may want to try, there is a company that will train (no fees). Type in "Mountain West Processing" in the search bar and that should get you to the company's website. I will however say that this company does pay on the low side when it comes to transcription work but I know plenty of ladies who have worked with this company to get transcription experience and have gotten other jobs after awhile. Another thing, is transcription is not for all people because you will have to an "ear" for it-some people have a hard time listening and typing all that is said plus you need to have good grammar skills as well.
If you go to my profile, the link there has other work at home jobs/companies which might help you in your search.

No I am afraid not.
The only way really is to start your own business offering your services but with today's technology typing can be done at the other end of the world for much less than we would be willing to work for.
Research home based businesses. I am sure you posses many skills and that there is a business that will not require large capital to start with and that you will enjoy doing at the same time while staying home with your children.
Just keep looking but remember one thing: Anybody offering you any type of business must be already successful at it and most of all capable to teach and coach you how to do it with no additional cost to you. Stay away from free sign-ups or packages of information showing you how some beach bum has made $40 grand in one day.

Medical transcriptionists often work at home. May take some training from a vocational college. Call several hospitals' Human resource departments. They can tell you if they hire home workers for transcription. You get the best of both worlds: work at home, and also get paid by a company. Some jobs even come with benefits. Be very wary of jobs that say "big money with no training, and work from home".

If they aren't all scams, it's pretty close to 100%.
There actually are very few straight typing jobs any more, even in offices - most jobs that include typing have a variety of additional duties.

There are NO legitimate at-home jobs where you work and get paid like an employee.
The very few people who work from home - have worked at the office for several years and have EARNED the right to work at home.
If you want to start your own home based business, then you do need to invest money - to pay for a business license, stock, advertising and taxes.
