What would happen, just refer to the American Revolution, The American Civil War... Or look at articles about Ruwonda and see the devestation. All wars are uncivil, hense the reason war is declared instead of a peaceful resolution.

all wars are un-civil, and Civil wars are ESPECIALLY un-civil.
If you need examples look up Sherman's raid through Georgia- an excellent example of brilliant military strategy but at the same time an excellent example of completely uncivilised behaviour.
It ended the US Civil War, it made far fewer casualties that even a single battle fought by either Grant or Lee, but it left real deep scars and real deep resentment.

more examples? in the Russian "civil war" after the "October Revolution" over 20 milion people were murdered- usually by the "revolutionnaires". In the case of the Chinese "civil war" the toll is over 70 milion- also mostly by Mao's boys.

recent examples? Biafra- 5 milion murdered. Cambodia- 4 milion.

Civil wars are anything but.

A civil war by definition is a war that is fought by opposing groups within a geopolitical entity (country). For it to become uncivil, I suppose the war would have to spread outside of the country. In that case it would become a regional war.

If you are serious:
A civil war is fought within a single country. Once other nations become major players or the war spreads out from the original country it would no longer be a civil war and just plain old war.

Uncivil is not a word. Civil wars probably all become uncivilized.

Well I suppose it wouldn't be a civil war anymore would it? It would just be two countries fighting each other, since a civil war is two parties within a country fighting each other.

all wars are uncivil.it's not also tru to say that all's fair in a war. Perpetrators of dastardly acts in civil wars have been prosecuted in Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Yugoslavia and elsewhere (Ruwanda, Angola...).

So when a civil war becomes uncivil, war crimes prosecution is one sure option that is available to victims.

i think civil refers to civilians considering that's who was fighting.

so if it became uncivil, people who weren't civilians would have to take over most of the fighting
