Satan is a Christian concept constructed from the pagan gods. Those who worship Satan are doing so to reject Christian teachings. It’s an anti-Christian religion. If Christians didn’t invent Satan there would be no Satanism. Anyhow, Satanism has come a long way since the anti-Christian days. Now they have many denominations of Satanism and some have nothing to do with the devil. Maybe you should do some research on your own before asking a question.

Why worship either one? The current view by many is completely distorted from the original reality. No, Satanists do not "prey" or pray for Satan to damage other people. Those who may pray to Satan want earthly success.

Why worship the Abrahamic gods when you can worship the Norse ones?
Way cooler, and they offer a better benefits package.
Edit: And, modern Satanism has nothing to do with Satan. It's atheistic, as you would know if you'd even done a quick overview of the religion on your own. Have a nice day.

But Satan is a part of Christianity. It's the Yin to the Christian Yang. I believe in other things, so Hell and Satan don't really apply.

Duh, for the same reason people worship kali, so they leave you alone, if jebus is a benevolent deity it is meaningless to appease him since he is benevolent anyway. But if you appease kali or satan or another evil deity, they might let you alone.
