Does any one have a name in particular or a store where to buy them. I hear that instead of frosting on a Cupcake you can dip the muffin top in the same chocolate you dip the Strawberries in. THANK!!!

I use Alton Brown's Recipe here it is for you!

Ganache
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown
See this recipe on air Tuesday Dec. 25 at 3:00 AM ET/PT.
Show: Good Eats
Episode: The Icing Man Cometh
3 tablespoons corn syrup
6 ounces heavy cream
12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a small saucepan combine the corn syrup and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and add the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract.

Ganache Frosting
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown, 2004
Show: Good Eats
Episode: Art of Darkness III
16 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
16 ounces (2 cups) heavy cream

Place the chopped chocolate into the bowl of a food processor.

Heat the heavy cream in a quart-sized, microwavable container and microwave for 3 to 4 minutes on high, or until it just begins to simmer; be careful not to allow cream to boil over. Pour the cream over the chocolate and let stand for 2 minutes. Process by pulsing several times until chocolate mixture is smooth. Use as is for glazing. If you wish to make a lighter frosting, allow it to come to room temperature, approximately 2 hours. Once at room temperature, place in the bowl of a stand mixer and whisk on high for 2 to 3 minutes.

You have to be careful how you use the chocolate on the muffins so that it won't crumble, but yes,you can use the same chocolate. Best to pour the chocolate over the muffins after they are completely cooled. You can use abt any kind of chocolate on strawberries & muffins.

What I did was buy my favorite chocolate candy (Dove) and melt it in a double boiler (one pan with water, another on top). I was able to dip a couple of berries before the chocolate kind of clumped together.
So my sister suggested I melt a square of paraffin wax into the chocolate. The consistency is much better. Good luck!

There's a chocolate chip melting chocolate. I don't have one here to look the name up. I think it's by Bakers. It's sold in little pots that look like the microwavable lunch soups.
There's also a version of white chocolate around by another company.
In the summer it's often presented in the fruit department in our grocery stores. Otherwise you find it with the baking supplies.

you use the same melting chocolate that you would use to make candy. I have actually melted left over easter bunnys in a double boiler and used that to dip strawberries and it was great.

You can also use almond bark (it comes in chocolate and vanilla). It is sold in regular super markets right next to the chocolate chips. It melts easily and is tempered, so it won't get white spots or get squishy.

You can actually use any chocolate you like. You need to make sure it is tempered properly, though. This link tells you how:

Any good quality chocolate will do.
so called cooking chocolate tends to be lower quality.
the modern trend is for white chocolate but dark chocolate (70 percent cocoa) works the best.
