The Chest Club were the body-builders, and yes they met regularly under the guidance of the trainer/coach.
The Chess Club also met regularly and planned strategies for living.
The "other" chest club was made up of cheerleaders, which were actually from another school since mine was an all-boys private school. .

They were called cheerleaders. Some had bigger chests than others, but it was still fun to watch them jump up and down.
