I've been working the Body for Life workout for about 12 weeks,I see definition starting in my upper body, but I still have a lot of belly fat. Is there something else I can be doing because this is my main concern. I have been decent with my diet but do cheat from time to time, no more than two days a week though. Any suggestions?

The Body For Life workout is excellent. The main plus to this program is that your weight loss is slow and your muscle building is also slow. That is the healthiest way to lose weight and to get stronger muscles.

If you lose more quickly you will find that you have all this excess skin hanging. By doing it slow you will avoid this. This is also meant to be something that you can be happy with for life --not just in the short term. So by allowing yourself to cheat twice a week there is a better chance that you will be able to stick with it forever.

You can make a choice. Do you want to be satisfied with the program for life as it is and lose weight slowly in the belly area or do you want to accelerate your weight loss then go back on the diet as you would like to live on forever?

Tough choice. If it was me I would continue in the same pattern and continue to lose slowly and not get saggy skin.
The other alternative it so give up your "cheating" twice a week for a while. This will get you closer to your goal more quickly but will you be happy by not "cheating"?

Your next option is to add more weight training into your program. Even if you could fit in another 10 minutes you would notice a difference.

Good Luck!

The biggest mistake men make when they start a diet or exercise program is they think that weights will help them lose weight. While the additional muscle mass helps burn more calories, to really burn off fat, you need to increase your cardio. Try adding a short jog, an elliptical trainer or swimming to your exercise routine. Alternate days of cardio and days of strength training to improve overall fitness. And add some ab work to you strength training. Sit ups, crunches and the like work great.

Don't consider it cheating on your diet. What you need to be concerned with is lifestyle changes. Eating healthier and making better food choices. You can splurge, just don't do it often. You're already seeing results, so keep it up.

Bill Phillips is a master at body transformation and has helped my out a lot. Even following his suggestions I was still struggling to get rid of the fat around my abs. Situps, crunches, and other direct ab exercises did not work for me. What I learned was that those exercises did not create a high enough metabolic rate to burn off the stomach fat. Here's a site that gave me workout and diet info that really helped me develop six pack abs.

Hope this helps.

THE EASIEST WAY TO FORCE YOUR BODY TO BURN YOUR FAT IS ELIMINATE ALL CARBS . GO ON A ALL PROTEIN DIET FOR 2 - 3 WEEKS , YOU'LL BURN MORE FAT THAN YOU WILL BELIEVE . WHEN YOU CUT BACK IN JUST CALORIES ALONE , YOUR BODY WILL START USING YOUR MUSCLE - NOT THE FAT . GET AT LEAST 95 % LEAN LUNCH MEAT ( I PREFER OSKER MEYER TURKEY 1-1/2 LB PACKS AND KRAFT SLICED AMERICAN CHEESE ) TAKE 2 SLICES OF MEAT AND 1 SLICE OF CHEESE AND ROLL THEM UP , EAT 2 - 4 ROLL AS YOU GET HUNGERY 3 - 4 TIMES A DAY ALSO TAKE A MULTI - VITIMAN AS MEAT DON'T HAVE IT . NEVER EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING THAT HAS A CHEMICAL SWEETNER AS IT SLOWS METABLISM AND IS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE . AND NO CARBS PERIOD , THE PROTINE WILL PROTECT YOUR MUSCLE AND FORCE YOUR BODY TO BURN THE FAT ON YOUR BODY . ALSO DRINK A LOT OF WATER EVERY DAY , IF YOU DON'T THE WEIGHT LOSS WILL BE LESS AND SLOWER . IF YOU GET HUNGERY EAT MORE ROLLS OF MEAT AND CHEESE ( IN FACT YOU CAN HAVE ALL YOU WANT )

CARDIO!!!!!!!
you have to burn more than you take in.
also, it takes time to get rid of years of fat. 12weeks is not near long enough. But good luck man hit up the cardio and you will be good to go.
