Would there be a social revolution in Mexico if the poor that come to the USA had no more outlet?

P.S. This is assuming border patorl agents are stationed at the wall, say, every 1000 feet or so. Kind of like a prison wall.

I wrote this because today, the Mexican news channels had a segment on the wall. And word is getting out here (in Mexico) that it's getting more difficult to cross and that states (like Oklahoma) are going to start checking everybody's legal status.

Thanks for the answer Enrique. Wages are pretty low here in Mexico, from what I've seen. If you aren't already in the money...

i dont think anyone has answer your question yet... what will happen to mexico? well as an economist i can tell you that trade between both will definitly decrease thus hurting BOTH countries. not because trailers go pass un check points at the border but because of retaliation the mexican goverment will most likely be pissed and will start impossing trade restrictions againts the US, by wich the US will respond with more barriers eventually hurting each other. There will not be a social revolution the mexican economy is far more advance the most belive... you have to understand that you cant compare it to the US but you can compare it to other latin amercan nations. Economic theory suggest that if less people leave and more stay, there will be a decrease in wages but it is also possible that new industries are created due to the fact that SKILLED workers dont leave the country anymore.

If Mexico wants to build a wall on its southern border to stop the influx of illegals from the Central and South American countries I think it would be a good idea!

We don't have the money to support everybody, plus if we stop all foreign aid and United Nations way of thinking our country could afford good Insurance for everybody. I will say this, we surely can not afford people coming here from the middle East either. No other country helps us. We cannot worry about people in Mexico we must take care of America first.

I think it is time for a revolution in Mexico and the US. It is time for the people for these countries to stand up and take back their country and government.
Here in the US it is supposedly a "Government by the people for the People" but that is not true, just as in Mexico.
If Mexicans would spend the time and energy in their own country pressuring the Mexican Government that they do ILLEGALLY in the USA then they might have a chance!

They would figure out a way around it. I think if you canned Mexico on itself I think it would go through a revolution. I think there is enough unrest and corruption that the people wouldn't stand for it anymore if the government couldn't get them through the border anymore.

They will still get over here. We aren't cutting them off we are just making it more difficult. Have you heard of some of the stuff they do to get here? It's ridiculous.

No, they will just complain more about USA immigration policy. They are not strong enough to rise against their oppressor. Remember when Britain thought the same thing of us in the USA? Yeah, they were right too.

That's a big "if"... but my sincere hope is that they would:
(1) get rid of the massive corruption in their government and
(2) use their tremendous natural resources to become a much more affluent nation.
Tough love works. We've coddled them for far too long.
