Why is it so hard to think that evolution may have been God's design all along (aside from the whole humans from monkeys, at least)?

I got about 10 minutes through the show. It was so replete with lies, I couldn't finish it. Sorry.

Lie #1: There is a plan, a design, and a balance to the universe.
Truth: There may be a balance, but there is no plan and no design. The universe looks exactly as it would with creator involved.

Lie #2: The earth has a perfectly designed system
Truth: The earth was not designed, at least not by an intelligent creator.

Lie#3: This planet is specifically designed for life.
Truth: In a universe of 150 billion known galaxies with 300 billion planets each (These are the numbers used by the documentary), at least one was likely to fall into the ranges of temperature and orbit that our planet does.

Lie #4: Millions of different species of plants and animals live on the earth in perfect harmony.
Truth: There is constant strife and conflict all over the planet, and not just from man. Animals kill each other, too, and not just for food.

Lie #5: When living things are examined, a manifest design is to be observed.
Truth: There is no observable manifest design.

Lie #6: Since life was planned, designed and organized, it certainly must have a creator.
Truth: Systems are capable of self-organizing.

Lie #7: And that creator has been introducing himself to mankind since the beginning of the world. He is the one and only Allah, who created everything from nothing, and fashioned the world and everything within.
Truth: It's just wrong. This Lie is an opinion with no more validity than the flying spaghetti monster.

Lie #9: Advances in science would refute Darwin’s claims one by one.
Truth: Darwin’s theory has been continually proven until it is overwhelmingly accepted by nearly all scientists.

Lie #10: They laid bare a complexity of organization that could not be a product of chance.
There is no evidence that complexity cannot come from simplicity.

Lie #11: It is impossible that such complex life could have arisen from inanimate matter.
The origin of life is in question, but it is not necessary to resort to mythology for the answer.

Also, the video seems to be making the claim that if science can't do it now, man will never be able to do it. (Via the argument that man has not yet created living cells from non-living matter.) This argument is patently invalid.

Another interesting argument is that the chance of life evolving on its own is comparable to a tornado sweeping through a junkyard and assembling a Boeing 747. This argument assumes a couple of things. A) life has a final design. B) Life cannot organize itself

Without the requirement that life look like a specific final design, the chance of life arising rises dramatically. As far as life organizing itself, please see "Quantum Evolution" by John Joe McFadden.

What a pathetic video. It must be so embarrassing that you try to attack a man who died over 100 years ago to try to disprove a modern theory. Saying Darwin did not know about genetics and other science is a ridiculous argument. Modern theory does take into account modern science. Jack***

Did you just watch it and accept it as being true, or did you check it against the large body of science knowledge and facts?

I suggest that you go through the link I have provided and check to see if the video's claims fall into these throughly debunked ones.

Edit:
Evidently I can't post the link. Try the website talkorigins and look for the index to creationist claims

Sorry, I'm at work and can't view video.
I'm going to go out on a limb though and postulate that this video was put forth by a religious organization?
Are you old enough to know what "consider your sources" means?

hhmmm.... evolutionary science discredied by harun yahya. i suppose you get a plumber in to fix your car and consult a banker if you feeling ill and have heart surgery at mcdonalds. the science research foundation lacks one thing; credible scientists. perhaps you'll remember this when get some truck divers to rewire your house.

Can you give me a citation to a peer reviewed scientific journal? You might need to learn to critique the sources of your information if not.

I'm not going to bother. I'm going to go will the upper level science classes I took in college.
Man you people are scary. Talk about willful ignorance. How do you LIVE like that??

god is a result of evolution. We adapted to make reasons for things we could not understand, so the easy answer became, A god Did it.
