No, intelligent enough to dismiss organized religions. Beliefs are dangerous, they allow the brain to go on auto-pilot, a brain not thinking is clinically dead.

I am not religious. Belief in a deity neither proves or disproves someones intelligence.
Even an idiot wouldn't say he was an idiot. Its safe to say that whatever opinions people hold they feel that they are smart for holding them.
The question is, How do you qualify intelligence?
By IQ or the ability to solve equations or riddles? By the ability to solve a complex problem? There are so many ways to qualify someones intelligence or lack thereof.

"Are you religious?"
Actually I despise the word. I am a Christian and these days I tend to despise anything that takes away from the truth. I am spiritual in the way that God presents in the Bible, that is; through Jesus Christ. Religion has too many carnal things which tend to get people to think that being religious is the right thing to do; like lighting candles, revering the Pope or any other religious leader, or praying like a robot. I detest those things. They have little or nothing to do with Jesus Christ.
"Are you intelligent?"
Did I answer intelligently?

I could phrase this two ways.
1. does religion cause intelligence?
2. Does intelligence bring religion?
We are given a predisposition to both as separate issues. To those whom a lot is given, a lot is expected. It's not so much how much intelligence or propensity to be religious we have, but how much we use.
Having said that, the Jewish method of studying does allow for much quicker and thorough learning. It is quite different than the Western Socratic method.

Why did you ask these together? Do you suppose that a yes to one question infers a no to the other? I don't suppose that many people would claim to be unintelligent, but intelligence isn't really quantifiable. I have a very high IQ, but that measures one way of processing information. I'm also slow with the snappy remarks and sometimes I fail to miss the point of snide humor completely because I take it seriously. So I guess your answer is, I'm a devout Christian who doesn't believe in quantifiable intelligence. :)

I am a Christian. Being "religious" means fixating on outward forms, going through the motions. It's easy to be "religious" without allowing that to spill over into your daily life after Sunday or whatever day you use.
Being Christian means having an ongoing, personal, vital relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. This Does (or should) affect and transform every aspect of the believer's life and their relationships with others.
Yes, I am intelligent enough to think analytically, research, question, and doubt myself enough to check with other sources. I am also intelligent enough to make my own decisions.
If you're talking "intelligent" on society's scale, I have a university degree which I had attained by age 20, having entered university at 16.

I don't know how to tell you this, but you can be both. But anyways, no i'm not religious. I'd like to think of religion as an excuse for not knowing answers to different things. Religion can be good at times (except Jehovah's witnesses, they take things too far) and it can comfort people, but for me the only comfort is finding how the hell everything got started. Some people say god, but i don't really believe in him or her or it or whatever.

Yes, but not theistic.
And I would ask for a definition of intelligence before I answer a loaded question like that...

Not religious.
Yes I'm intelligent.
I know very intelligent religious people. They just channel their intelligence in reinforcing their beliefs. And that I have to respect even though I don't agree with.
