You are so quick to portray God as a harsh and unmeriful God. Why because he disciplines?
can't a loving father discipline his children?
do you discipline your own children?
If it wasn't for Gods love and discipline I wouldn't be where i am now. I would be dead or in jail.
Praise and Glory to his name for ever and ever Amen!

LOL

I love how god disciplines... floods the entire planet killing off every life form minus 2 animals of each species and 7 humans. Or how he burns down entire cities... the way he sends plagues, famine, diseases etc.

I love how he shows his LOVE when he tells us he answers prayers, but realistically, miracle type prayers never gets answered. Yesterday someone brought up the fact that if a million people prayed for god to heal amputees by giving them their limbs back, why doesn't he do it? Why is it only simple things that have a logical explination that get answered? It's always funny to read these so called miracles of prayer how people are magically healed of things like tumors and cancer while undergoing treatment... it's not the doctors or medicine that cured them, it was god, cause they prayed for recovery and could feel it, even though they were in the hospital for treatment.

God has a funny way of punishment too... like if I deny or blaspheme god, he not only punishes me, but my family for 3 or 4 generations even though they did nothing wrong. Punishment for the sin of our fathers is ridiculous. You have a warped sense of views if you actually subscribe to the ideas present in your question... either that, or you don't really know the bible and your religion as well as you think you do.

I'm glad you got something good out of your faith.... I personally don't believe God is a "he" ... or a "she".... I don't believe God looks like a person... sitting on some throne perched on a cloud looking down and pointing his finger at humanity... and disciplining his children... I believe we are all part of God, a collective consciousness... and we all contribute to positive or negative energy... your firm belief is what changes your life... but people who firmly believe in a different God "Buddha" for example can site similar life changes and "miracles"... that's why we should all be free to contribute spiritually in any way that we want as long as it doesn't hurt others... and If you're intention is for good... I believe you will find goodness returned to you in life...

I love and believe in God like you. Perhaps in defense of those you are asking (though not intentional) God is not easily understood. Even the Bible speaks about how His ways are not our ways. He doesn't think like we do but He is merciful but He is also JUST (fair, demanding justice)! So those who don't take the time to know Him personally, will always feel left out because even though He extends Himself to all, He cannot go back on His word. They must actually accept His love. It's a real truth. Let's just pray they see and understand the one true and living God before it's too late.

God is the universal spirit, that holds the universe together, as one. God created a challenging world, to bring out the most in us. The fact that we ignor the serious problems of this world, is the reason conditions are so bad. We tolerate a lot of abuse and a lot of poverty. The world could be better, if our focus would be in the right place. I believe in reincarnation, because I believe their is but one reality and this is it. Because I don't allow for an escape from this type of reality, to an alternative eternal reality, I make my focus stay on target with this reality. If we had our focus in the right place, we could tranform this world into a better place.

My mother was a caring parent. She disciplined me with a swat on the butt. She never threatened to torture me for eternity.

"You are so quick to portray God as a harsh and unmeriful God. "
I don't. The Bible does that for me.

Your toddler replaced into potty knowledgeable with the aid of age 2? right here - take mine and potty practice her." or "Oh, thank you for noticing that her shirt is grimy. i'm going to %. it up day after today, when you have washed it." 3. evaluate this custom for the teen years, while your individual babies will choose your parenting, and you would be the international's maximum unfair mom.

Yes but would a parent allow harm to come to their children? No so if god is our father than he should not allow harm to come to us. And this free will excuse is just a cop-out for his lack of actions

World wide, over one million children a year die from starvation and related causes. And these are kids under the age of 7. So much for your all-powerful / all-loving god.
