I know that there are members of some religious groups who look forward to the End Times, because they can't wait for the flawed world we live in to be done away with and replaced by a perfect one. I think it's sad, really. Sure, our world is VERY flawed, but it's mainly because we make it that way. Our ozone layer is being depleted and our ice caps are melting, because we're too lazy and/or indifferent to really do anything about it. There are conflicts taking place around the world, mainly because some people can't think for themselves and as a result they support bad leaders who start the conflicts. I know the world will never be perfect, but it's the only one we live in. I say that we should focus on the here and now and try to find solutions to our problems rather than letting it all go to pot in the hope that the Apocalypse will take place.

There are all also way too many people who jump for joy when they visualize all the 'heathens' getting slaughtered by God. They are some of those people who look forward to it, and they are very disturbing.

I can only agree with what some of the other people have said--it's far easier for the weak-minded to want to do away with everything and believe in a mythical paradise than to sincerely work to change and improve our world. Ironically, the hatred that results from religious differences is a big reason the world is so screwed up.

Sure it's been misattributed more times than I can remember, but I truly believe the world would be better if there were no religions.

I think you're right--they look forward to the End Times because they can't wait for the inequality be be done with. I know I did.

Many earths have come and gone; many solar systems have been created and organized to offer the tree of life and its fruit. Many more will come. But to us, there is only one. In it we can find the gift of life.

To experience everlasting joy we must do unto others what we would have them do unto us in all things. Upon this foundation rests the purpose of creation and the eternal state of happiness.

There is no other way—worlds without end.

There is only one human organization that has ever been founded on the premise of worldwide equality and the guarantee of food, shelter, clothing, and health care to all wise ones. This organization has the proper formula needed to succeed: It is The Worldwide United Foundation (www.wwunited.org).

This united effort is the last chance for the species of wise ones to stop their decline and spiral into chaos, turmoil, and emotional and physical destruction. United, the people of the earth CAN solve their own problems and reinstate the preamble of their existence: We are free-willed beings with the ability to reason and use our free agency to establish our own individuality.

If we cannot do it for ourselves, the only hope is that a wise one who lives on another planet where peace and happiness is the norm (and who has much more wisdom, power, and knowledge than us), will come to this earth and save us from ourselves. This will be done by establishing supreme law
and order based on the proven universal principle: Value others as you value yourself.

The end of times of war, inequality, and unhappiness must cease, or The End of Times of the human race will come.

These quotes come from the book that explains what all of the book of Revelation means. It tells the truth about religion, politics, and world events. It IS the truth concerning us. It is free at the 666 america dot com site.

The end is going to come regardless of how hard people try to find solutions to the worlds problems... and I don't believe anyone is 'letting it all go in the hope that the Apocalypse will take place.' Your Pollyanna perspective sounds about as deep as a beauty pageant's wish for world peace. People look forward to the end times because they are looking forward to when God takes over.

I think part of it is longing for a huge cosmic "I told you so!" to everyone who doesn't believe as they do.

I think another part is perhaps related to suicidality. When you are suicidal, you just want your suffering to be *over*, and the only way you see over and out is death. On a grand scale, some people see the world as so irreparably damaged that the only way to make it better is to end it.

Looking forward to a future of paradise diminishes the need to change our current situation. In essence, feeding starving children is harder than looking forward to a time when we will all live in a merry happy-sunshine era.

Well, some would say that it's too far gone to be saved.

But I reckon those who desperately want the day of judgment to come about are insecure about their faith and unhappy in their lives and in themselves. They want a big flashing shiny moment with themselves on the inside looking out, so they can feel vindicated.

They are losers who hate life and who hate everybody else who is trying to do something to make the world a better place, they want to go elsewhere and leave the mess they are responsible for behind them... I wish they would hurry up and go so we can clean up.

Are you kidding?!!!

hen everyone is complaining about how this world sucks - non believers too, there is a promise of and ending to it. Not only that, but also that it 'wrong' will be taken away from us believers!

If you believed what I believe, what's not to look forward to? I mean, come on! It's not going to last millions and billions of years! It's going to end. And those who believe want it to end.
