If you are a good candidate for lasik and you have a good trusted dr there in my opionio there are no diadvantsages.
If you are concerned with night vision then I say you must go with the Custom treatment, rather than the Standard or traditional. It is newer technology that greatly reduces glare and halo issues after surgery ( with night vision)
If for some reason you needed to have PRK, Epi-lasik or LASEK then the healing can be longer and a bit painful ( all depending on dr's technique) then I guess that can be a disadvantage but in the long run after healing you would be happy not needed to mess with glasses or contacts.

Can be marvelous. I did it and lots of folks I know have done it. Make sure you thoroughly check-out/research the place doing the surgery. It's expensive so would steer away from any place offering it cheap. Stay with a very reputable place.

See a retina specialist before having it done. I had detached retinas two years after surgery and basically lost the good vision I paid for. I was severely nearsighted. No one can say the two were related, but I often wonder. Good luck.

I haven't had it done because I'm a poor candidate for it. I suffer from dry eyes and I'm middle-aged so I will need reading glasses if I get it done. However, I've heard mixed reviews from people who did have it. Some said that the results didn't last for them and others did have problems with night vision. I used to know somebody who actually had to wear sunglasses at night when she drove her car because the surgery caused her to suffer from extreme light sensitivity.

Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
