The nervous system is a highly complex network of fibers and it functions in a complicated and "mysterious" ways. That makes sophisticated imaging, laboratory testing and all sorts of test not to always provide sufficient information about how the nerves are functioning or how much is not functioning.

There is no single test to give the nearest approximation of the nervous system damage. A series of tests and exams may be required to tell an estimate of the damage.

Some of the tests that may help to evaluate the situation includes the following:
>>CT Scan or MRI
>>Neurological examination/evaluation.
>>Nerve biopsy or spinal tapping.
>>Electrocardiography (MEG) and nerve conduction velocity (CV) testing.
