It is obvious both the Chinese and the American toy manufacturers are trying to make money without paying for quality control.Mattell has already apologized for its own lack of quality assurance. The Chinese are just trying to make a profit.

Likely they will start placing costly quality assurance steps in their manufacturing processes otherwise their economy will start to fall apart when they can no longer export anything. But this will drive their costs up making them less able to compete. Either way it was a brilliant move by them if they wanted to help the US out.

I don't think so. We are just more aware of toxins now than in the past. The Chinese are now being educated.

Don't buy things that are labled "Made in China". Eventually they'll get the point.
