i am a full time employee i usually work 35 hours a week they cut my hours to about 20 hours a week i am also pregnant and cannot afford this they say they are cutting hours because it is slow can they do this and if so can i collect unemployment

They have the right to drop you or your hours at any time without notice or reason. Typically this is a line in every employment contract out there. So yes, they can do this. If you get fired you can collect unemployement. If you quit or just leave you cannot.

Thirty five hours is not considered full time employment. Your employer can cut your hours at any time including firing you. You can collect unemployment if you quit, are fired or are laid off but there are penalties for quitting and getting fired. You must be a citizen to qualify for unemployment. Why is this posted in immigration?

I believe you can now collect unemployment for a reduction in hours, but I don't know the details. You should go to the unemployment agency for that.

They can do whatever they want to do. Check with your unemployment office because there might be a chance you can collect a form of un-employment due to slow down of business but I wouldn't hold my breath and if they do....it's just a fraction of it.

They cut your hours so they don't have to pay for your health insurance.

ur not full time -- full time is 40 hours per week -- and thats the reason they cut ur rate -- by definition ur part timeer
