One minute we were madly in love, no problems except for working out when we could be together....then suddenly no contact...and finally he asked me for time. That was nearly a month ago. I know he is away working, but why is he ignoring my texts? I just need to know why he is doing this without an explanation. I miss him dreadfully. I want to give him time but need to understand. My friends tell me to let go as he is 'not into me' any more. But I believe he loves me. Am I wrong?

I should have mentioned the fact that he asked me to marry him... and I am already in a loveless/sexless marriage with a husband who does not have a long life ahead. I am currently torn between leaving to be with this man or staying to look after my husband until his time is up. My lover and I have done nothing physically, and we have been trying to wait it out.

O girl I feel ya....my ex broke up with me just over a month ago...said he wanted to keep talking and **** but he wanted his 'space' also. So, i gave it to him...it's been just over 2 weeks since we've made any kind of contact. I'm in a funk...i'm soooo heartbroken. we were WONDERFUL and just one day he came in and was like 'i need my space.' as hard as it is...you HAVE to give it to him. Be his friend....try to keep your head up high....it's SOOOO hard...I KNOW. I feel like my heart is still in a million pieces and there is a pit in my stomach like whoa, and i feel like crying every single day...but you have to take care of yourself. Give him his space.

If a guy is into you - he will make time for you or you will at least know the next time you will be seeing him in advance. You know why? Because he doesn't want you going out and meeting other guys. Why? Because he likes you and wants to be with you. Stop making excuses for this guy. Look at him for what he is - someone who is probably fun to hang out with and mess around with - but has no real long term interest in you or your feelings - otherwise, he would not let you sit there and "wonder" what he is thinking and feeling. He would be busy trying t make sure you are happy and figuring out what makes you tick. He's selfish and probably ok as Mr. Right Now as long as you don't get too involved with him - but he's certainly not Mr. Right. Mr. Right wouldn't ever leave you in the gray area making you feel that empty feeling that you have when this guy isn't contacting you for days.... you're friends are right.

He asked for time. That could mean one of several things. But you're texting him...that's not giving him time, that's driving him away. He may be on the way out anyway but if you continue to try and contact him, you'll just push him out the door.
