Will be staying Mon - Fri night next June. Any suggestions for a good hotel near all the action.

You can TRY orbitz or hotels.com now for some deals, but I would say one of the all around best hotels to stay in is the Marriott Marquis on Broadway at 45th Street. They are in the heart of it all and offer outstanding rooms and so much to do within the hotel. They also have a few great lounges and one that rotates views. We were able to get a room on June 24th for $325 a night. You may be able to do better since we reserved it short notice. They also offer discounts for AARP, and AAA if they apply. Go through their website as well.

Other great places Sheraton in Times Sq. The W. Times Sq. or the one on 51st & Lexington or the Jolly on Madison Ave. and 38th Street. Good luck.

Try the New Yorker Hotel, across from Penn Station. You can get reasonable rates and they have suites, which is nice. You can also ask for a room with a view and walkout balcony - nice! I've gotten these by coincidence before and loved it. I've never paid more than $150 there.

if you want a good hotel near all the action you won't get it for $250 you will have to either pay more or get a hotel further from the action
