if there was only one god who created everything why are there so many other gods? if there is only one god then he should only have one name, there should only be one bible and there should only be one way to worship him. but its not like that,so who is the "real" god and why are people surprised that others think that man created god instead of the other around under these circumstances?

It is my contention that there is only one Creator regardless of how any scripture refers to Him. How one chooses to worship Him or if worshiping is even required is strictly a personal decision. You see, there is one correct answer but we do not know what that answer is. So, since people do not have a definitive proven answer regarding the Creator, they have their beliefs. If these beliefs lead to positive things then that is acceptable. If they, instead lead to negative things they they are unacceptable.

In a sense you are correct. There is only one and there is probably one best way to commune with Him. But what is that way? How do you know? Well, we don't know. So we believe what makes the most sense to us.

The reason for the many names of God in the Holy Bible, is because of names that fit Him. That didn't come out right, What I mean is, take man who is a father, a doctor, a husband, a son, an Uncle etc.... he is called, dad, daddy, pappa, Dr....., honey, sweety, Uncle...., there are so many names that define us, so why wouldn't God give Himself a few names in our Bible? The names represent aspects of Him.

Now to answer why there are so many Gods, well its because people have branched off from the Bible, or there has been a prophet who claims to know the truth, or a culture had formed a religion, etc.... religion has roots that date back years and years. There are several religions that are older then Christianity and shorter. With someone who doesn't have a faith in anything, it must seem that there are so many different views and thoughts, that how can any of it be real?

Well, I believe in Jesus and God the Father. I can argue with you about facts, faith etc...but it just comes down to this, I believe.

when you are dealing with a force that is so awesome and so hard to explain, the human mind fights extremely hard to answer what it doesnt know. Human nature is to explain things the best we know how whether it is right or not. now if you take into consideration different cultures in the world and all of them thinking differently, living differently and acting differently then that explains why GOD has so many names. God does exist but each culture has a different way of believing. unfortunately, unless you believe in Jesus Christ, which plenty of historical evidence proves he existed, i mean Exists, then your way of thinking is wrong. While some religious groups are willing to die for pleasures, like 7 wives and all that nonsense, believers in Christ are willing to die for truth, and dedicate their lives for others and not for self. That and many other things is your proof of a one True God who created all of us. As far as your other question, the best way to explain this is that if there is a God then there is a Lucifer, who hates us so much he will do anything to make us thing God doesnt exist or more importantly, he doesnt exist. When we start getting to a place where we think we created God or we came from monkies, then the devil has fulfilled his purpose in us of destroying our faith and souls at the same time. I know if you study a little bit more then God will allow you to see the truth. Just remember, you are asking these questions for a reason, even if you dont understand the reason yet. Bless you!

There is only one true God and He is God of Abraham, Jesus. God warned us that there is no other gods, but people have the need to create ones that they feel more comfortable. No other God has ever come to the earth to show us the way to heaven and how to have a personal relationship with God.

There is only one God. There is only one bible, but just as with your kids in school, if something big happens, each kid will tell the same story in many different ways. After it has been told over and over and over to this one and that one, the original story is almost gone. But if you study the modern bible, and compare it with the Dead Sea scrolls, you will see, as in the book of Isiah, the word of God has remained nigh on exact over the thousands and thousands of years. the others have gotten so far off course you have no ideal where they started or where they will end.

God revealed Himself as the God above all gods by picking a people (Israel) & having the law & prophets prophecy of the future Messiah (anointed one) & Savior (Yeshua) of the world.

The 10 commandments reveal Gods Name. I AM the LORD thy God. Also I AM that I AM the LORD thy God One LORD.

ANY HYH (I AM) = God Is.
YHVH (LORD) Yahweh = Eternal breath/wind
ELHYM (God) Elohim = Plural of EL or ELYH
EKD (One) Echad = One unit
YHVH (LORD) Yahweh = Eternal breath/wind

Christians believe in God the Father, Word/Son & Holy Ghost 1Jn5 Three who bear witness in heaven, Father Word & Holy Ghost & these 3 are 1.
& God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit Matt.28 Baptize in the Name (Singular) of Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

The Lord thy God is One Lord. Compare... these 3 are 1. The Lord thy God (God the Father, Word/Son & Holy Ghost) is One (united) Lord (Yahweh). So? The Name of God (Trinity) if just One Name is 'Yahweh'. Meaning Creator & Everlasting. Always was, is & will be.

The other so called gods aren't real ones. They didn't create the heavens & the earth & everything in them. I name them wannabe gods.

Even when Jesus came, he changed the rules regarding divorce. When asked why, he basically said - now you are ready to live more in accord with divine will.

The message of God is tailored for the culture and times. That is why there could never be one bible and only one way for all time. It is like saying there should only be one set of rules for your entire life. Do you still have a curfew? Do you have to eat your vegetables or you get no desert? If prison is the rule regarding punishment for killing another person...would you put a 6-year old who killed his mom or dad in prison?

As you can see, rules change even in your own life. So much more so over varying cultures and times in human history.

There is only one God, but people become attached to a single messenger and message - and say that is the only unchanging truth.

There is only One true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob whose Son is Jesus the Christ.

All other religions are manmade with false gods.
