If dust is on lens, buy something that blows it off. If it's a smudge then buy lens tissue. Breathe on it slightly and wipe it lightly. Do not buy any liquid chemicals.

Use a bulb-type blower brush to remove loose dust. Buy a Pentax or PhotoSilk lens cloth at your local camera store.

Once your lens is clean, get a UV filter and keep it on the lens. I'd much rather clean a filter than my lens.

EDIT: I would never, under any circumstances, use canned air anywhere near a camera. That is one sure way to drive dust particles into places where they can cause problems. A little dust in the focusing helicoid of your lens won't be a good thing.

Actually liquids are ok to use as long as you don't spray it directly onto the lens. Buy a lint free cloth at your camera store, spray the liquid onto the cloth, and then wipe the smudge or fingerprint. Wipe gently.

If just dust, blow on it off using a bulb type device or canned air under pressure.
