Yes and no. I'm smarter than my mom, and my dad is smarter than I am. But my dad's a mess, and my mother has her own virtues.

I'm not smarter than either of them. Both my parents were extremely intelligent, highly educated individuals with advanced degrees. I have had the benefit of learning from their mistakes, however, and that has made a big huge difference in how my life is turning out as compared to theirs at my age.

No. My parents didn't go through the deceiving spirits that I go through daily. My parents are in heaven and a great deal smarter than I am.

I think were about the same when it comes to book smarts, but growing up in the 70"s and 80"s I believe I have the upper hand on what teenagers are or arent into, kind of a "been there done that your not fooling me" smarts that my parents didnt have.

How about this?
When I was 16 I knew everything there is to know in the whole world. By the time I was 22 I did not know nearly as much as I did when I was 16. By the time I was in my thirties I knew less than half as much as I used to. Now I am in my fifties and I don't know anything. Don't believe me? Just ask any 16 year old!
