If sin is equal in god's eyes then do you (honestly) feel ok about god viewing you in the same way as a child molester that has asked for forgiveness?

Yes and No.

Sin (general concept) is not the same as sins (individual acts).

Yes all sin (general concept) seperates us from God, so I am equal to a child molester in the sense that I have turned away from God, and in need of forgiveness and redemption

However, my sins (individual acts) are not equal to that of a child molester. The bible tells us that certain things especially anger God, such as worshipping other gods, mistreating the poor and defenceless, so this suggests there are certain things that do not anger God so much.

So I may not have as serious sins to be forgiven for as the child molester, but I still have a need for forgiveness which puts us in the same place and in need of the same solution; Jesus Christ.

Christians wander away interior the romantic concept of a marriage and forget that a marriage is a criminal settlement, fist and better. A gay guy or woman could choose for to guard their better half, offspring and sources the comparable replaced right into a heterosexual could. elementary regulation couples in simple terms have not got the comparable rights as a married couple, and wills or maybe custody could be contested in courtroom, fairly if the kinfolk did no longer "approve" of the deceased decision in better half. interior the top the bereaved can somewhat make life a residing hell for another.....that's the final difficulty the deceased could have wanted. Marriage finally could take care of the surviving better half, gay or no longer, from criminal battles that ought to stand up. a guy or woman, gay or no longer, would desire to be waiting to have the reassurance upon dying that their better half and youngsters would be taken care of interior the way choose for them to be. that's the main in charge decision. Well sin and evil are two separate things.

Sin is missing the mark. Sin is an archery term that does mean missing the mark.

Any act of evil/disobedience causes you to miss the mark when it comes to representing the image of Yahweh.

Evil is another thing. I may miss the mark but I'm not associated with the evil that others do.

Is the evil of adultery the same as the evil of telling a little lie? No it is not.

Both are sin since they are both not representative of Yahweh's character.

But both vary in 'evilness.'

Even in the old testament different evils were punished in different degrees of severity but it was all sin.

I think many have a misconception of sin and disobedience.

Only one thing I might add to this conversation. One of the principles of faith and religion is the relationship between the believer and God. Everything should be done for the higher glory of God. Therefore every believer should be striving to do the best they can, be the best they can, and accept the fact that we will sin, but must seek forgiveness when we do.

It his His divine right to pass judgement, not ours. Therefore how He views each persons sin is not our concern. How his Divine punishment it meted out for other peoples sins really should not be a concern of ours.

But, this is just one man's view. Hope it helps.

Well, some people find it difficult because we as humans see a little white lie as different then murder. But in God's eyes He clearly states that he sees sin as sin. Its kinda nice in a way, because it show's that His love in pure and that no matter what we do in our lives, He is there and willing to forgive.

There is a story in the Bible about this. There was a man who hired workers early in the morning and agreed to pay them $10 for the day (I'm guessing on the amount, go with me on this one lol). He realized about noon that he needed more workers so he hired some more men to come work and told them he'd pay them $10 to work too. Then, about 2-3 pm, he realizes that this isn't going to happen if doesn't get more men, so he hires even more men and tells them he'll pay them $10 too.

At 6 pm he pays the workers. The ones who started in the morning start complaining because they got paid exactly the same as the guys who started at 2. The owner says to them "didn't you think it was a fair deal when I hired you? You agreed to work all day for $10, any deal I make with these other men have nothing to do with you, you still got what we agreed upon".

The point is, I'm not "resigned" to anything, I've agreed to follow Christ to God's throne and it's been a wonderful journey since then. God doesn't see me for anything other than what I truly am, and He loves me for me. I don't compare myself to others. Why do you?

Anyone that has hated someone in their heart is guilty of murder in the eye's of God. The question should not be will I burn for committing one sin over the other, or be saved for doing more good deeds than my neighbor? The question is do I have Jesus Christ in my heart, have I repented for my sins and have I tried to live my life as flawed as it is as best as I can. That is the question and my own personal answer will determine my eternal destination.

Absolutely! Forgiveness is forgiveness, no matter who is doing the asking. I know that I am forgiven, and I have committed some pretty disgustingly sinful things. Still do, but I am still a work in progress. Maybe not as fast as others would like, but they are not God, either.

This is how I feel, since sin is sin, Ive committed too many of them and I'm glad to know that Jesus blood shed for mankind, covers all my sins. I cant worry about dealing with others sins, they have to ask forgiveness and be sorry for them and then ask Jesus to come into their heart as their personal savior. I personally am trying not to sin, and when I still do sometimes, I am sorry and ask God to forgive me. God said no sin could enter heaven, He made us and the rules.

God does not compare me with murderers and child molesters. He compares all of us to His standards. This is where we all fail equally, no matter the severity of our sin.

Fortunately He knows it is not me that sins, but the sin nature within me. That is why He is the only one who could fix the problem by Jesus' sacrifice. By believing in Him, I am set free from the consequences of my sin, which is total separation from my God.

It's a deal no sane and intelligent person can refuse.
