Air.

I’m sitting n smoking
Coughing up air.
What air?

I’m standing over here
Away from there.
Taking in air?

I’m flying n floating
Clean breathable fare.
Being air.

You guys are great! Hate the victims of hype and marketing for their inability to fight off a self-depleting, toxic, narcotic substance after a thirty-five year habit despite heroic efforts and self-disgust. Ignorance is bliss, is it not? Judge not, lest ye be judged.

I don't smoke. I've never smoked. I tried one cigarette once & didn't like it. Still, I think that smoking is a personal choice. Maybe it's not healthy, but it certainly isn't evil.

Did you ever try asking these people if they could perhaps try to blow the smoke in a different direction or to put out their cigarette while you are around them? As long as you aren't putting off a "holier than thou" attitude, most will be more than happy to stop. If they don't, well how about moving away from them? This is their choice. Trying to make choices for other people is wrong. This is the whole point of America: the ability to choose what you want to do in your life.

Like excessive drinking, addictive smoking is a very negative, unacceptable habit. It causes lung cancer and the second-hand smoke will affect all those around you, giving respiratory diseases. It also contributes to air pollution and global warming in some way. Many countries ban smoking in restaurants, pubs, theatres, etc and you feel like an outcast. So why not make a decision to stop this habit with its undesirable effects. We all need fresh air and good health to enjoy life.
There are countless ways to get attention, to focus or to be happy, other than holding a cigarette in one's mouth. Be original and not copy others. I m sure u can do it as many others have succeeded. Please spread the good message around.

No, but it is stupid with all we know now, I smoked over half my life, but quit 11 years ago, hopefully, bu the mercies of The LORD, I wont suffer more ill effects that I did with COPD, but I am healed in Jesus Name !

BTW: Smoking will not send you to Hell either; it'll just make you smell like you've been there.

I believe it's evil because the Scripture says that God will not dwell in "....an unclean temple...." Anything that has long-term, detrimental effects on the body slowly destroys it from within, thereby rendering it unclean.

Evie,
Smoking itself is not "evil" however the smoking causes many unhealthful conditions that are not good for you and may in fact shorten your life. I view that as being bad. Have a wonderful week and a glorious LIFE!
Thanks,

Evil? I think not.....unhealthy and stupid yes. What is evil is that big tobacco co's keep making cigarettes in spite of the fact that it kills people after getting them addicted....Follow the money trail....

The love of MONEY is the root of all evil not cigs.

This is the worst poem I have ever seen, it's like your a child who wonders into the middle of a movie and asks what is going on, you have no frame of reference with the question. Is smoking evil? No, it's only hurting you really and pissing others off, why the poem? Are you an angsty 15yr girl?

Jesus said something to the effect that anything you take into your body cannot defile your body.

Of course, that never stopped some religionists from claiming that smokers would burn for all eternity in the unquenchable fires of Hell (in God's mercy).

Evil? No. Unhealthy, yes. We should be careful about anything that might be harmful to our bodies. Alcohol, cigarettes, pot, drugs, even soda's and snacks.
