The USA Supreme Court has determined what sin is in America.
Of course, the list the USA Supreme Court gives can vary from century to century. A few years ago the USA Supreme Court said that women cannot vote in elections and that slavery is good. Today, their list is different.

All sin has the same result and thus all the same, Romans 6:23. This implies that a lie or homosexuality is no different than murder or rape. It is just that certain sins are more obvious or destructive and are easier to notice or prevent. That is why as humans, we consider certain sins not as bad as others. But as you see in Romans 6:23, that is not reality. Sin is very serious no matter which sin it is. We should work to prevent all sin in our lives, this is what sets true Christians apart from everyone else, 1 John 3:8-9.

One sin is not worse than another. Sin is sin. Homosexuality is an abomination. God said so Himself.
All sin, even Christians. Only thing different is that the born again Christian will go to heaven because he is covered by the Precious Blood of Jesus.
What the person told you is true, what he/she ment by it is that other Christians will know who is a Christian by the things that they do. They give willingly of their time and resourses to others. They do not lie, cheat or rob others all the time. They seem at peace with themselves. They may not be healthy, but do not demand health.
Those who are not Christians would not know any of this nor see any fruits.

Your point is well made -- the same applies to the ones you mentioned.
However, in regard to all sin you have to understand that one misstep into sin as a Christian does not necessarily lead to damnation.
It is the willful practice of sin that leads to damnation of the Christian.
There is some reason to believe - but surely not to test God -- that a person that in their life has committed any or all of the above who sincerely repents AND PRODUCES PROOF with works of repentance, a total turnaround from a previous sinful lifestyle to a holy lifestyle -- may be totally forgiven!

I think many Christians jump on homosexuality because it is a sin that they are not participating in and feel it somehow makes them superior...they neglect to look at all of the sins going on in their own lives.
I believe that in God's eyes a sinner is a sinner and people should not try to rank their sins in an attempt to feel more rightous then others.

Who Sins:
Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. (This includes ALL people)
1 John 1:8 - If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us
How God Sees Sin:
James 2:10 - For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
What Does God Require of Us:
Matthew 5:48 - Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
But We Can't Be Perfect (See Romans 3:23), So How Do We Please God:
Romans 10:8 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

A sin is a sin. All christians sin. A true christian will not continue in the same sin, if they do they will recieve God's repramand and possibly taken out of this world.

God did not give the 10 Commandments to Moses and say "Here is My laws, law # 1 is the most important, law #10 is the least." Not all Christians lead a good Christian life.

Sins where restitution is not possible (murder and the like) mean that repentence can only go so far. These sins have potential to cause problems after this life.

I hate to read posts like this where someone has denounced another for their behavior and has said they are not a Christian.
We are ALL imperfect. Being homosexual is no worse than lying, murdering, being greedy, etc. ALL of us fall short of God's ideal. None of us should be judging others (of course it's human nature and again we all fall short and judge sometimes).
