Why don't Christianity, Judaism and Islam see the similarities between them?
Why they try to put each other down when they have so much in common?
Why they ignore the fact that there teachings are the result of previous religion Zorasterism which already had stories of virgin birth, three wise men, Flood stories and Adam and Eve?

Christianity developed some time after the death of Jesus at the hands of the Romans. The first Christians were Jewish. Paul, who never even met Jesus, was primarily responsible for spreading the word about Christianity.
Jesus was Jewish and he never renounced his faith. He lived and worshipped as a Jew and he never stated that the kosher laws re food, etc, should not apply.
But as Christianity evolved, it became gradually a distinct faith. Ironically, Christians insist they are following Jesus on this but they are not, because Jesus died a Jew and never knew anything about Christianity.
EDIT TO TUBEROOT. This is not true. Jesus is not mentioned once by name in the Old Testament, and there are no references to him; the idea that there are rests on mistranslation of Hebrew. The OT was completed before Jesus was even born.

In order to really understand and appreciate Christianity, one has to see where it came from and how this belief system came to be. If you are truly looking for answers, then you will find them in the pages of the Old Testament because as a Scripture says, "The things that were written before time, were written for our learning". Then as you progress, you will find why we, as Christians, want to know about God's dealings in the past for His people in the future.

Because the Old Testament is full of references to Jesus Christ. The promises found in the Old Testament refer to the coming of the Lord on Earth. He told us in so many places there! There's even promises that say that the Jews as a nation won't believe until Jesus returns. So exact are the prophesies that it just shows that God is a total genius. He even gave them reasons NOT to believe.
I can hardly wait until that time when they will believe. And they WILL believe !

The same reason Muslims are not Christian.
The New Testament is an add-on story to the Old Testament, just as the Muslims consider the Quran to be an add-on story to the Bible.

The key word that comes to mind is "Covenant" !
The word covenant, means "a type of agreement". Marriage is a covenant, and God has also established covenants, with humanity, and so when Jesus said, "I am the final and everlasting Covenant", this is where Christianity and the Jewish law crossed paths, and this should answer your question.

Christianity was originally a sect of Judaism but eventually evolved into a separate religion.

christianity is a conglomeration of mythology, mysticism and judaism that continues to warp and evolve to this day, but has it's roots in egyptology (also where jews get their laws and rites)
it's based on a long standing trinity god concept to include a dying/resurrecting 'god/man' type son that we must appease if we too want an after life

Christianity is the logical projection of Judaism. We are the wild vine, grafted in to the cultivated plant.
