Not really. I just stay off the subject entirely with my daughter unless she asks.

She did ask what a church was for. I told her. She asked if God was real. I said some people think so, but I don't. She thinks about it and says "That's silly." Not bad for a four year old with like a five min. reflection.

You can raise people to shut out all possibilities of the spiritual side of life, and tell them just keep thing simple, don't believe in any of this stuff. Or you could just say make up your own mind, and find out what works best for you. Believing in the existence of spirits, that can leave their bodies, and believing in the spiritual realm, but not believing in the current definition of God, would backfire, if the child found a definition of God that worked for them.

you have the right to choose what you want to be. just because you are brought up religious doesn't mean you have to stay with it. look at all the evidence and decide for yourself. by the way, there is no such thing as a christian child, just the child of a christian parent. as a child you dont have the capacity to decide what you truly want. once you grow up then you can decide what is best for you, when you are younger you have no choice really.

Atheism is not necessarily a conclusion but a lack of one. If you don't believe in gods you are an atheist. No conclusion is necessary.

many people are born with a certain set of beliefs or lack thereof. i was raised atheist, but never quite fit into that label. it wasn't until i was an adult that i came to realize i had always been pagan, but just didn't know the terminology. you can relate it to people being gay. they are raised straight, but always know something's different about them and it isn't until they are older when they realize what that is.

most atheists are raised in a religion and realize at a young age that they don't believe in god(s).

At some point in your life Christ Jesus will call you to Him. Yes, the Lord tugs on our hearts because He put part of Himself inside of us. Without Jesus, we never quite feel complete.

When Jesus tugs at your heart, accept Him and do not reject Him. Our time is short, because He will be returning soon. The Jews are back in their land of Israel and this is a great prophecy fulfilled.

Salvation is simple - The Lord says, "Believe in Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." Invite Him to come and visit with you. There is nothing wrong with "Lord, have mercy upon me a sinner." We come to Christ just as we are with all our sins and baggage. When He gives us the Holy Spirit, it is the Holy Spirit that starts to purify and refine us. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things concerning Christ. The Holy Spirit gives confidence, comfort, peace and contentment. He shows us how we have no fear of death and He shows us how not to fear, fear at all. He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. And all things are possible to those who believe.
