This is what Jesus said about those who reject and persecute the Church he founded.

“He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.” – Luke 10,16 (KJV)

Jesus also gave the Church the authority to forgive and retain sins. So if the Church condemns your blasphemy and heresy, (retains your sin) aren’t you hell-bound?

“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” – Matthew 18,18 (KJV)

The Church Fathers also affirmed this doctrine.

Ignatius of Antioch
"Be not deceived, my brethren: If anyone follows a maker of schism [i.e., is a schismatic], he does not inherit the kingdom of God; if anyone walks in strange doctrine [i.e., is a heretic], he has no part in the passion [of Christ]. Take care, then, to use one Eucharist, so that whatever you do, you do according to God: For there is one flesh of our Lord Jesus Christ, and one cup in the union of his blood; one altar, as there is one bishop, with the presbytery and my fellow servants, the deacons" (Letter to the Philadelphians 3:3–4:1 [A.D. 110]).

Origen
"[T]here was never a time when God did not want men to be just; he was always concerned about that. Indeed, he always provided beings endowed with reason with occasions for practicing virtue and doing what is right. In every generation the wisdom of God descended into those souls which he found holy and made them to be prophets and friends of God"

I am not judging you, but shouldn’t you rethink your stance against the Catholic Church and other Christian churches?

Baptist'
Where in the Bible does it say Jesus established a 'spiritual' church. Jesus said "church." "And so I tell you. Peter; you are a rock, and on this rock foundation I will build my CHURCH, and not even death will ever be able to overcome it. I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven." - Matthew 16,18-20

Chris,
Galatians 1,9 applies to you not to Catholics. Sola scriptura and sola fide are unbiblical. You guys also reject the presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. And a lot more teachings that are unscriptural.

Jana 11,
The 72 and the apostles were the early church! They organized themselves into the church after the ascension and the commissioning!

Everyday,
Yes, I agree with you. There is a baptism of blood or desire which saves unbelievers.

Pastor Billy says: to be anti-Catholic is to be anti-Christian. Notice how some who have answered set up false dichotomies for example let us take a look at the comments of Iwant_u2_wantme2000:

"We who are saved are the church. That's the true church. The one who follows Jesus."

The language she uses and the poor terminology leads one to belief all mentally challenged people aren't saved, all babies who can't proclaim their acceptance of Christ aren't saved. She also implies that the "true" Church is some vague thing here there and everywhere. Try asking someone like her who proclaims they are "saved" already if they are willing to proclaim someone else's salvation also? It never happens as they are instructed they can only be positive about their own ability to cry out "I'm saved" where is the unity of believers with this type of doctrine? nowhere

The Church is both a physical reality and a spiritual reality. In addition the visual nature of the Church is to be One so others can locate it and join , "Sol, Sol why do you persecute me?" Christ was telling the future apostle Paul the Church was always connected to God, and the goats and sheep would be joined until the end. This admonition alone provides the evidence of the errors of the Protestant Reformation/separation. One can not reform something you are no longer a part of.

The ones I genuinely wonder about are the ones who openly declare that they have a different baptism than the Catholic Church.

I visited a Baptist church ealier this year, and a few people were baptized at the end of the service. I found it really disturbing that when a former Catholic was rebaptized, she verbally and explicitly renounced her prior baptism. I was tempted to stand up right there and ask, if she was renouncing the baptism of the historic Christian faith, then what baptism was she now being baptized with?

Remeber that those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ or His Gospel may be saved.

Those who fully understand and know that the Catholic Church is the church of Jesus Christ and still reject it will be condemned. I think that most of teh catholic bashers on this forum do not fully understand and know this. They are blinded by prejudice that they cannot get around.

It is called invincible ignorance. We should pray that God will not hold them accountable for their ignorance..

No, baptism of blood or desire does not apply in this situation. Baptism of blood means thaose that die as martyrs for the faith are assured of heaven even if they have not been baptized. baptism of desire assures Heavenb for those who fully intend to be baptized but were not able to get this done through extenuating circumstance, like an untimely death.

I don't think they are going to go to heaven for it...

Personally, I disagree with some of the beliefs of the Catholic church, especially their stance on birth control. However, all the Catholics I've ever met are perfectly good people. If you can judge a faith by its adherents, I see no reason to believe that the Catholic church is "of the devil" or any of the other crap some hate-mongers on here spew.

People that bash the Catholic church and claim that it is diabolical are generally narrow-minded fundamentalists full of hate and ignorance. Anyone that has that much hate and anger in their mind and heart is basically already in a hell of their own making.

In Luke 10:16 was speaking of preachers of the Gospel. The 70 some odd that Christ sent with instructions. The building of ornate Cathedrals housing pious men in robes that give sacrements and teach scripture in Latin was never instructed by the Word of God and that is the authority on this earth. The Church is the Ecclesia...people gathered for a purpose as the body of Christ to minister and give hope.

visit this site and maybe it will give you some insight to the faith system you support...

The catholic cult is not of Jesus. Jesus said that about all true believers, not about an organization or a buliding. Catholics have a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).

Surely you are not so dense that you actually would believe that.

I know there are a great number that do believe this and it just goes to show that it is easy to fool most people most of the time.

People say they want to think for themselves and then let others tell them what to believe. Rather silly i think

Catholicism is a business. How can one go to "hell" for bashing a business? It's like saying, "Wal-mart is stinky" or "BP is price gouging at the pump" or "The catholic church houses many pedophiles". Like all businesses, the catholic church was founded by men. By the way, the answer is no.

According to the words written in red, people don't go to hell for bashing Catholics; they go to hell for rejecting Jesus.
