Satan has no real power but he can put thoughts into our mind's . It is up to us _____believers as well as non-believers,to act on those thoughts. It's called self control by some and free will by others.

Satan tries to deceive everyone. He doesn't have to work very hard with the non believers. Once a person is born again the Holy Spirit comes in them. The Holy Spirit helps the believer with discernment.

Satan also leads people into temptation, lust, greed etc... Again it's the Holy Spirit that can really help a person overcome these temptations.

So, I'm answering Satan is an equal opportunity kinda guy... and though he had the same power over both believers and non, it is the believers who have the helping hand.

Dusty, why is ur Q addressed to Christians only well in fact in the details of your Q you have Q centering the non-believers which you may mean the atheist, the agnostics and other religious beliefs different from the Christian believers?

The catch of the Q is seemingly needs to reconcile, for if in fairness to those on the other side, how can you have a reliable answer on something that side is ignorant of, or lets put it, no complete knowledge, would that mean opening a controversy on one side to the other so that the aim is to cause confrontation? Would that be the intent of the Q....not based on good sense of right intent I presume.

IN the first place I will try to make patol to your Q...in the Bible of Christian Faith which I know, Jesus Christ the basis of Christian Faith, dinedma si Satan....do you know what I mean? Satan tried to tempt Christ but Christ despite of having been from a 40 days fasting...was able to parry and drove Satan away, and Satan was not able to do harm to force Christ do Satan way, despite Christ is in his human flesh state of being, and he was temporarily not in the Spirit being a more powerful state of being, and Satan was in his Spirit being....so if you are that intelligent as you wish to show by your catchy Q...see if you can get the meaning of that story and derive the A to your Q. Satan is powerless ever to God. That is why Satan was driven down out of heaven....no power to convince God of his inadequacy....In the case of Job, what power Satan had made but failed to change the position of Job to God's believer. Do you know that or you feel to forget selectively....My Q in mind, is the asker an atheist, agnostic, or a hider? Gud day.

If you're going to ask a question ABOUT non-believers, why do you think Christians would have any real knowledge?

Satan is a CHRISTIAN construct. We don't believe in Christian gods, so Satan has NO power over us.

Please tell me one person that you've seen possessed at a Christian exorcism that did not first believe in Christina doctrine!

Christian devils and demons only have power over Christians. You have to believe in the Christian anti-god Satan for him to have power over you. I've never come across a Pagan possessed by a Christian deity. It doesn't happen. For that matter, I've never seen a Pagan possessed by ANY being. That's not how our system works.

We take responsibility for our own actions. We can't blame what we do on some other entity. We have choices, we take actions, and we are responsible for te results. Your gods are not responsible for what happens to us, good or bad. Sorry.

Satan has no power over mankind other than to tempt us. He may deceive us through our lust, greed and fear. We choose to do his will when that happens. Satan is an angel. He used to be an angel of God.

Being an angel, he has been in the presence of God Himself. He used to be able to emerge from Heaven to the temporal world. Now he is restricted to the temporal world destined to Hell. Being an angel, Satan is much smarter, faster, stronger, has foreknowledge and is therefore more knowledgeable than any person

Satan is our enemy. Like a good soldier, never underestimate your enemy.

Yours in Christ Jesus

I know that he is real and he tempts you but my answer will not satisfy a non-believer. Only people who have been confronted with power of Satan will understand. For me it was a cold, icy fingers around the heart and my prayers was all that saved me. A lot of people who are following Satan do not know it, only when they turn to God will feel the power of Satan.

Well for those who are saved, he has no power unless God gives it to him. Look at Job. When the legion of demons was cast out of that one man and into the swine, they had to ask for that too. Now as far as this world, satan has made this world to be full of sin. Look all around and you see it everywhere. He plants the thought and men act on it.

He only has the power that we give Him. He is powerless when we invoke the power of Jesus name. As Christians we have the ability to discern the lies of Satan and claim the power of Jesus name to reject him. When we sin we clearly give power to Satan to control our action.

I think Satan has infinite power on both Christians and non-Christians. Satan is stronger than human.
However, God is even stronger than Satan and everything happens to us must have God's permission first. God will NOT make us suffer beyond we could bear...for non-Christians, I want to believe because all of my family and friends are not Christian.

Christ said, "I, if I be lifted up (a known euphemism for crucifixion), will lift ALL unto Me."
By His death and resurrection, therefore, ALL are free of the power of Satan.
Satan has NO power which you do not first give to him!
Your personal faith or lack thereof is immaterial.
He can still tempt, but he can do you a mischief ONLY IF YOU ALLOW IT!
