Prayer, fasting, giving, loving. But most of all having a relationship with God, being careful not to make a 'religion' out of it.
It is a relationship and that's what I stress most. Where communication and trust with God is the key to growing - not rituals and traditions of a church.
Communion is taken, and may be taken without transubstantiation in the home, and remembering Him is the place where the heart is turned towards - Jesus.
I find that many churches practice rituals which are carnal - they attempt to present man in other than his true form - which is not humility, not the dirty rotten little sinners that we truly are, thank God for His grace.
Loving God, praying to Him, giving in His name, and placing utter dependence upon Him are expressions of the Spirit; His Spirit, and do not exalt the believer unless He exalts a believer.
